Joanna Cole, the acclaimed author of the Children's Book Series The Magic School Bus died this past weekend of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis at 75 years old.

The Magic School Bus was later made into a Cartoon with Lily Tomlin starring as the Teacher Ms. Frizzle, and both books and movies were an important part of many children's childhoods.

I didn't know who she was until I clicked on this thread, but now that I know I'm pretty sad by this. 'The Magic School Bus' was a childhood favorite show of mine. My childhood ended a long time ago, but it hurts to still see its corpse being exhumed and stomped upon.

Very sad to hear. The Magic School Bus books, show, and games were among my favorites when I was a kid, and Ms. Frizzle is one of the best eccentric and loveable kids' book and show characters ever created.

RIP, Ms. Cole, and thank you for your wonderful way of getting kids interested in science and discovery.
