It phases out between 25 and 35. 25 is the age where people start expecting you to own your sh**t, and at around 35, you're considered a proper "grown up". I chose 30 as the midpoint.

25. Millenials are annoying as hell larping as ‘young adults’ when they’re pushing 40.

I always thought "youth" referred to under 18?

30 seems like the natural cutoff. I certainly didn't feel like a grown adult at 25, and I still don't now. Then again, who knows if I will at 30 either.

No, that's "child". (in most jurisdictions) Depending on context, the cutoff for youth can be different - the age your brain is fully developed, the age at which you're no longer considered "just starting out" in your life/career, the age at which you have to pay full price for a golf club membership, the age at which you have to start getting your own healthcare insurance, various government cutoffs... it all depends. 25 is probably the most common cutoff.

25-30.  I'm 32 and I am not a "young man."

It depends on what you mean by "youth," and it VERY much depends on the person and their life circumstances.  Overall, I would agree with Santander's first response.  Looking at my own life, 23-24 were pretty much just acting like we were still in college but with money now, and when I see people that age out and about here in Chicago, they are noticeably less "mature" than their age on paper.  By about 25 or 26, I think we settled into "adult partying," and each year since has just been an extremely gradual shift toward more of an "adult" lifestyle ... with obvious interludes of complete debauchery, which I never expect to fully go away.

I felt like a full adult at 24, worn down by all the years. 26 should be about the latest that feeling hits you. At 26-27, it becomes acceptable to have children (though I discourage most Americans from reproducing).

"Youth(s)" is such an awful term to refer to someone.

35. Then again, my dad refers to my cousin (his nephew) who is going on 39 as still a boy in his youth.

Glad to see that I'm not the only big brain trans woman on Atlas.

Thank you for officially making me old
