Depends on location. In Nova Scotia where we've only had five cases in the last month, all from out of province travellers, sure. In Texas or California? Hell no.

gee why would u tailor policies to local situations

Hot take ... if your opinions on "COVID" aren't almost entirely tailored to locales - ranging from "lock down!" to "you're taking away my freedom!" - you are probably doing it at least somewhat for attention or self assurance.  Lol, of course this answer should depend ENTIRELY on the location.
