CA-Insurance Commissioner 2018. I voted for independent Steve Poizner, who was the de facto Republican nominee.

Yeah, this was an easy vote, too.

Even though I joined the Republican Party in 1989, I still voted Democrat for state Representative in 1990, for Lt. Gov. in 1992, and for state Senator in 1994. But after that I started voting straight Republican tickets for the next several years, until I decided to quit supporting the Republicans and to quit voting. That was in Dec. 2002, and I did not vote again until 2016. I'm independent now.

Some races where I would have actually voted for the Democrat:

1986 and 1990 Pennsylvania gubernatorial elections
1990 Massachusetts gubernatorial election

I'm a right-wing Tory.  That said, I probably would have voted Labour in 1997 depending on my seat.

I voted for Nigel Farage's Brexit Party in European Parliament election 2019 and have supported some Lib Dems at a local level.

In US would have backed Perot in 1992, possibly Clinton in 1996 and definitely Manchin in 2018.

2002 MT Sen is the only election in recent times in which I would have voted for the R.
You mean 2008?

I'd go with 2008 Montana Senate too. Also there are plenty of times where I might have voted third party instead of Democrat but that's about it for Republicans (at least since 2000 or so).

Yes. Kelleher is the only GOP candidate in the last 20-30 years I'd have supported over the Dem.
