The only anime worth watching. Perhaps one of the greatest animated shows ever made.
The 1999 mini-series FLCL (or "Fooly Cooly") is better than 90% of the popular well-reviewed shows these days.

If all the coming of age symbolism passes over your head like to the 90% of people, the only thing that makes sense is the ending. 

I read reviews that explainded the symbolism after watching and I was like "huh, cool". The Atomks scene is perfection though.
