Looks like bronz was right about everything afterall.

Not really, he was wrong in this thread and everyone who said that a law-and-order Democrat could win was right. Even with that, Adams got lucky that Stringer self-immolated for reasons that had nothing to do with crime.

Also worth noting that despite everything, Hochul still won NYC 70-30.

70-30 is nothing to brag about in NYC. Subtract most of the Manhattan and other "white limousine liberal areas" - and what remains?? Of course - a majority, but - much lesser, then before. May be - Democrats went too far in their desire to "appease" "progressives", and forgot about all other people.... Democrats begin to have a problems with their base of the last decade  - Hispanics, Asians, even rural Blacks to some extent. And if they bleed them - not much remains.

It’s not impressive, but the thread’s about whether a law-and-order Republican can win an NYC mayoral election, and despite circumstances being almost as ideal for Republicans as possible, they couldn’t get close to a win the city. Ofc, there are easy ways to improve on Zeldin (no election denialism, being pro-choice, more willingness to fund city services, etc), but you’re basically just creating Eric Adams then.
