Not sure if I should have posted this message on this forum or elsewhere but in 2016 I could not access these forums at all for the election results and feedback on the results as they start trickling in.

Has anything changed for 2020? I think the server wasn't able to handle the amount of visits.

What other websites do you guys follow for election night results?

I definitely follow:
CNN exit polls
NY Times
freerepublic (for feedback on the right)
dailykos (for feedback on the left)
drudgereport
thehill

I mostly look at the this NYT live results and watch CNN’s coverage. This will be my first election night on atlas, so pretty excited.

Hopefully,  you will be able to access it.

John King on CNN is great at breaking down county information and doing comparisons that give us a good sense of where things are headed or lookout for.

Don't get too excited...the forum will likely be down for a while.

I will watch CNN, as usual, and follow results pages from the states or the AP.

I might event take off the day following the election as vacation.

LoL. I thought doing the same thing! But if Trump wins, I would rather work than look at what happened. I would go right into sadness and depression about the future of our country. In 2016, when I started seeing the results go bad, I didn't want to see anymore. My excitement went away lol.

I watch CNN, look at 538 commentary, look at NYT and AP results, and also have a mapping tool open (I'll prolly use YAPMS this time) to see the range of potential outcomes after some places are called and just to play around with the EC map as the night goes on.

It has in the past, although thanks to the valiant work of Virginia, the site managed to stay up for election night 2018, so hopefully we can keep it up this time round too.

I will watch CNN and sit on this forum. Thankfully, election night for me is time between 7AM-2PM of November 4th. And it's  a Sunday,  so I gotta grab popcorn and root for Biden.

Well, given how long it's taken to count votes so far, "election night" probably becomes a weeklong affair this year.

I will certainly NOT follow Election Night on an uber liberal Democratic Board like this unless we have 50 % self identified Republicans on Talk Elections on November 3rd.

And what I mean with Republicans is certainly not RINOS!

The memes might be obnoxious for you and I can see why, but (if I could cut through that) I'd trust a bunch of politically opposed psephologists to deliver more interesting analysis than the obnoxious takes that are going to be playing on cable/most forecasting sites besides 538 and the NYT (there will elementary school errors about failing to distinguish between in-person and absentee ballots).

My plan for 11/3/2020*:

7 AM: Read Twitter reports of voters lining up at polling stations across the country and feel pride in my nation.
9 AM: Browse Atlas, make some final predictions
12 PM: Order kebabs
3 PM: Nervously monitor betting markets and turnout reports (especially in Florida)
5 PM: Take a panic walk (did this in 2018 as exit polls were coming in because I felt like I was gonna explode), monitor exit polls through Twitter and Atlas
5:50 PM: Open NYT results page for Indiana and Kentucky with 2016 results to compare with, maybe pray to God
6 PM: Watch the results come in through Twitter and the NYT page. If Biden is clearly doing outperforming Hillary across the board I'll feel comfortable enough to turn on MSNBC (Steve Kornacki Purple heart)
7 PM: If KY and IN don't look good I'll probably be nervously pacing through my house. If they do look good I'll be in a better mood. Regardless, I'll closely watch the Florida EV drops. If Biden is doing well, I'll continue to track results with a positive attitude. If it's a tossup I'll still track results, just nervously. If he's clearly losing I'll probably curl up in a ball in my bed, delete twitter, uninstall google chrome, and drink.

Call it mental illness but you guys are on this website too.

HAHA.  But, yes I agree. We should have more Republicans who are Trump supporters. But some of the stuff they say is just delusional and the same goes for those who believe this election will be a landslide. I don't think it will be.

They do not necessarily have to be Trump Supporters. Just more conservative Republicans in general Smiley BUT when you hear stuff like Haley, Tim Scott, Daniel Cameron, etc. being labelled "Extremists" that is damn bad IMO.

Twitter and Atlas on computer, along with NYT and DDHQ.

I usually watch CNN for election night coverage during presidential years but this year I'm thinking NBC or MSNBC. They have the best theme after all.
