I motion we rename the thread.

Leave it to public school teachers to be dramatic af.

Maybe if we were given an iota of respect and paid more than 50% of what engineers are paid, we wouldn’t have to be.

Maybe, if they want to be paid more, then they should be engineers?  Take really hard classes in school for four years, operate under very strict project timelines, and and spend all day on CAD?  instead of, y'know, spending all their time with kids, and getting 2 weeks off at Christmas + the summer, and having virtually no accountability in their positions?
Shocked

I second the motion.

Leave it to public school teachers to be dramatic af.

It is a federal courthouse.

Local authorities have no jurisdiction.

If Oregon does not want a federal presence they should secede.

Everything you posted is not how things actually work.
Is it any different than Little Rock in 1957 when a Conservative governor refused to carry out federally mandated desegregation of schools, and a moderate centrist president had to step in?

FTFY
Kate Brown and Orval Faubus are peas in a pod. Both radical extremists (and Democrats).

Dwight Eisenhower and Donald Trump are indeed moderate centrists.

Literally one of the top 20 worst Post in Atlas history. Jim tax has truly outdone himself.

So it has finally come to this -Fuzzy Bear is now officially a fascist:

Marxism Leninism is absolute an evil ideology that must be destroyed, root and branch. That being said, these Moms are not Marxist Leninists, nor are the dads or US vets marching with them. They are just normal moms and dads.

The violence absolutely must be denounced, and I don't think any of these protesters support violence. It is important to raise up the banner of non-violent demonstration:

Portland leaders condemn violence, draw distinction between peaceful protest and riot

"“The self-concern, the casual destruction and the self-righteous determination to put others in harm’s way that was on display last night in this city does absolutely nothing to honor the legacy of George Floyd or to improve the systemic problems that led to his murder,” Mondainé said Saturday morning. “Destructive acts that hamper the progress of our cause can only be committed by those who do not truly care about preventing further George Floyds or are too ignorant to know better.

“To our non-black allies," he said, "do not commit violence in our name.”

-- Rev. E.D. Mondainé, president of Portland’s NAACP

"“I believe there was a small group of people who came out last night with every intention of tearing stuff up and they were going to tear it up no matter how many of them there were,” she continued. “But I want to be crystal clear: What happened last night had nothing to do with black America. It was not about standing up for black people’s rights. It was not about acknowledging the death and harm that has taken place.”"

-- African American Portland City Commissioner Jo Ann Hardesty (D-OR)

It is important to support peaceful protests for the important goal of Black Lives Matter.

You had me until the last line.

Black Lives Matter is a Marxist Organization, founded by two (2) women who admit to being "trained Marxists".  Whatever the goals of BLM, the organization must be roundly condemned for their behavior.  In a civilized society they would have already condemned.  In this Alice Through The Looking Glass society, they have received lots of political love and corporate money, for reasons that are not clear, and have the look and feel of a payoff for "safety".

It's too late for "Peaceful Protests".  We got the message; the "voices were heard".  All the peaceful protesters are doing now is feeding the Violent Mobs.  And many so-called "peaceful protesters" are actually standing by rioters, vandals, and arsonists, not actually committing these events, but cheering the violent persons on.  It's the "Peaceful Protesters", and not the police, that need to stand down; they are a major obstacle to restoring public order at this time.  I'll cut them props as to perhaps not really understanding how they're keeping the problem going, but it's time for them to stand down and for riots to be quelled.

It's time to rename this thread after him, he's made far too many absurd remarks like these

By this I mean stuff like Trump having his federal agents go to major cities on November 3 and arresting “suspicious” people waiting in line, or in the weeks before having them go to polling stations and confiscate boxes and boxes of mail-in ballots because of “credible reports of voter fraud” or something about a bomb being in the boxes. It’s not like some unarmed 70-year-old poll worker is going to put up a fight.

How likely is this scenario and what would recourse would Democrats have?
This forum is turning more and more into reddit everyday

I don’t think it will be a Trump that steals the election directly, but Republican officials across the country. The postmaster general will continue to slow the mail down to where it will take 3 1/2 weeks for an absentee ballot to get to your home from the clerk’s office. Due to “printing issues,” the ballots will be mailed out two days before the election, ensuring barely anyone gets them.

Trump will then send troops to the polling places to scare voters and arrest Biden voters to stop them from voting. By November, the Coronavirus will have spiraled out of control and most people will be too scared to go to the polls even without federal goons there to intimidate them. Trump wins a “landslide” with 14% turnout and Republicans now have huge majorities in both houses of Congress.

There isn't much absurd or ignorant about this, the concerns about Republican voter suppression as well deploying federal troops are well justified. In just the past 2 years, we've seen voter suppression in the Georgia gubernatorial election in 2018 and now we have DHS officers being sent as federal police to Democratic-run cities across the nation to control peaceful protestors. While I don't think Trump will actually rig the election, these concerns aren't unfounded, especially since we are talking about a man who has sought the help of multiple foreign nations in interfering in our elections.

The highlighted part is the ignorant part.

Go back to ignorantly yelling Marxist 40 times a day.

It's certainly likely, but only if Biden wins.

Democrats aren't violent in large numbers the way it seems Republicans are.
Hard to believe anyone would post something this stupid considering the amount of looting and rioting the left has done in the last few months.

Tell me one violent rioter/looter who is voting for Biden.

Actually I know of one, one of my instagram friends went and took part in the rioting in LA and will definitely vote for Biden. Who do you think the BLM rioters will vote for, Trump.

Who is Jim Trex, and why is this thread named after him? In fact, why is this thread named after anybody? That's not nice.
Jim R Tex is a blue avatar poster who inexplicably changed personality earlier this year and began posting (IMO) unreasonable unhinged nonsense out of the blue. He could now be most accurately described as The Rudy Guliani Of Atlas (modern day Guliani).

Oh, he's been off his rocker a lot longer then earlier this year. Other than that though, a very apt summary.

They're part of his BASE.  They're Joe Biden voters (if they show up).  They're the part of Biden's base that Biden doesn't want to claim.

Very nice of Fuzzy to post directly on to the thread for maximum convenience.

Just for the record, I have a new reported post today, and it is likely this one. Fuzzy, or possibly one of his devoted cultists, reported this. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It really is long past time to permamute Fuzzy (or at least for us to start reporting everything he posts, since that's basically what he's doing to us.)

What has Fuzzy Bear done to warrant being banned?

Turning everything into a "I'm being persecuted" complex, even when the person being attacked isn't him.

Him being here has done him, and the forum more harm than good.

He doesn't need band, but it is starting to get to the point where he possibly needs quarantine kind of like what happened to SN 019 before Banning, or limo liberal. The analogies are apt. Both of those t w i t s consistently spammed and derailed threads ad infinitum with the same utterly repetitive talking points. Fuzzy is almost to the point of doing the same thing.

Lol no.

I don't get this Knights of Columbus mania (what a horrible name for an organization, btw).

The Knights of Columbus (K of C) is a global Catholic fraternal service order.[1][2] Membership is composed of (and limited to) practicing Catholic men.[3] It is led by Supreme Knight Sir Carl A. Anderson.[3]

The organization was founded in 1882 as a mutual benefit society for working-class and immigrant Catholics in the United States. It has grown to support refugee relief, Catholic education, local parishes and dioceses, and global Catholic causes.[1][4][5][6] The Knights promote the Catholic view on public policy issues, including opposition to same-sex marriage,[7] abortion,[8] and birth control.[9] Between 2008 and 2012, K of C gave at least $15 million to lobbies opposed to same-sex marriage.[7]:1

The organization provides certain financial services to affiliated groups and individuals.[10] Its wholly owned insurance company, one of the largest in the world, underwrites more than two million insurance contracts, totaling more than $100 billion of life insurance in force.[11] The order also owns the Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors, a money management firm which invests in accordance with Catholic social teachings.

So, a Catholic organization agrees with Catholic teaching?

I'm Catholic and all the more reason why I actually agree with Kamala on this--religious law does not belong in civil law and the constitution made that clear.

That doesn't mean that religious beliefs can't influence public policy.

They absolutely shouldn't when it comes to denying individual liberties.

A lot of slave-owners thought their individual liberties were under attack from Wilberforce.

A consensual relationship between two people the church disagrees with is equivalent to owning people it seems.

I clarified that I didn't mean that.

Not really. Instead, you merely re-established failing to realize your attempt at making such an absurd comparison.

Hot take:Pelosi should refuse to seat Greene.

Pelosi should refuse to seat all Republicans elected and reelected.

Schumer should do the same if Democrats win the majority in the Senate.

Yeah, NY e seems to jump the shark more than any other red avatar on Atlas when it comes to hyperbolic stuff like this

No because it's obviously a false story by someone who's very bitter and badly wants Trump gone. This is the same crap they did with Warren and CNN coordinated smear against Sanders. Anonymous sources, no credibility - journalism is a joke in 2020.
Do you believe everything you read?

Is that your excuse for believing nothing you read?

At long last, the highly-coveted thread that officially marked the beginning of Atlas Fantasy Elections!

Fun fact: The R-SD guy in that thread is currently the Attorney General of South Dakota!
At first I didn't believe you so I looked it up and yeah, that's definitely him. No idea who else "jravnsbo" could be. Shame he isn't here now, I always like actual politicians on Atlas.

So, are there any posts of his that we could leak to take him down in a future South Dakota election?

That's a perfectly defensible post, given 90% of the posters here at any one point should not be running for elected office.

Badger ran for office, Sanchez would have run for office hadn't Trump been President, Moun was a State Rep, Torie ran for office.

I did? I wrote myself in as Inspector of Elections for my ward when I was 19 and won because I was the only vote, but....

Huh

Weren't you an elected judge at one point? (And therefore registered R since you live in some R+99 county?)

No. I registered R because I seriously toyed with the idea of running for judge in a Republican County.

I think so. I was very active in the local party and had done my dues. I was actually under consideration for appointment from the governor's office to an open seat on the bench, though the person who got the job was well-regarded to be next in line, so I simply considered that application process as a trial run for next time.

I was going to run against an incumbent who is having issues and had the worst kept secret in the county that he was still a flaming liberal after having switched parties to initially run many years earlier. He actually wound up bowing out of the race rather than running for re-election. I was at the Board of Elections getting out my application paperwork and inquired who else had take it out applications for the race and learned that a very well-regarded long time incumbent politician had come out of retirement to run. Fixed a gritted teeth smile when I heard this, and when she went back into her office to get some more forms I punched the brick wall in the lobby because I knew this completely out of the blue development totally f***** me.

That guy could only serve one term due to age limits in his term runs out soon. I suppose I could have kept toiling in the party salt mines the last several years to place myself in a good position, but I couldn't stomach doing so once Trump became president and defacto party God, Plus the financial decision to start my own practice in the meantime took way way too much time away from the ability to campaign and attend numerous party functions.

I support Trump on this. This was used as a smear against him and is just locker room talk. Every man is like this and most women too, i believe. I'm demisexual, so not me though. I'm not interested in sex as long there is no deep emotional connection between us. But I believe sex is way too much of a taboo still in our current society and support the sex industry although i will never make use of it. I don't watch porn or visit sex workers because of a lack of interest, not of religious motives. If anything, i'm even glad Trump is so open about sex. Every politician is a ing hypocrite on this. It made me more likely to support Trump! He should be proud of the leaked tape. It shows he's a healthy man.

For Trump: as there are likely to be female TV production staff present, for once please restrain yourself and don't sexually assault them. Or at least not on camera. Doing so could potentially result in a 1% drop of support among your base.

For Biden: be prepared to call 911 when Trump began sexually assaulting a female production staffer.

The only absurd/ignorant part of that post is that Trump will sexually assault a production staffer/moderator on camera. Every thing else is accurate.

The 1% part is absurd too

Trump has been credibly accused by over two dozen different women of sexual assault. He has bragged Donnelly most famous lie about being able to just grab women by the p**** because he's famous and get away with it, but also bragged on radio how used to make snap inspections of the Misty in USA dressing room because he knew it could get away with it because he owed the pageant the girls there wanted to win.

The list goes on and on and on and on, and your party still has an approval rating of this perverted serial sexual batter well north of 90%.

I'm thinking because you have an ounce of conscience, they simply comes down to the fact the truth hurts.

Fellow purveyors of Atlas.

While the subject for whom This Thread was named has posted a couple of doozies over time, he is in no way as bad as most of the current crop of wankers whom cannot go 20 minutes without posting some outlandishly hackish prediction about the election.

I hereby move this read be renamed after one of the following individuals.

Sir Woodbury

L j u b e,

Buzz

(in that order).

We must move with the times, ladies and gentlemen.

This quarantine period without the innovations created by these billionaires may have fully collapsed American society, and ol' Breadline Bernie's response is to institute an unconstitutional punitive tax/bill of attainder. America dodged a bullet in that primary twice.
