"Why did he vote to remove Trump from office if he wants him to win again?"

Unless he's just running in Utah, maybe some other deep red states with a sizable Mormon population and/or a Republican population that's not crazy about Trump like Idaho or maybe the plains states. I'd be cool with that. Actually I'd be cool with him running in any safe R states. It can't hurt, at least. As long as he stays out of swing states, even marginal ones that have only a slight chance of flipping.

Inb4 OSR says endorsed.

I wouldn't be surprised, considering he's proven himself to be a carpetbagging rat already. I don't mind his vote to impeach Trump, he can have whatever opinion he likes, but his carpetbagging for political office is really pathetic and is a valid enough reason for people to dislike him. (besides the many other reasons)

He'd focus only on Utah in order to force the election to go to the House, which could result in moderate Republicans and Democrats alike to unite around him. But that could only happen in a Bernie/Trump 2020 race.

This hurts Trump more than it hurts Biden. Very few of those intending to vote Biden would jump ship from Biden to Romney. More Republicans who feel like Trump is damaged goods are likely to back Romney. Romney could possibly even flip Utah narrowly in a three way race against Biden and Trump, due to Trump's relative lack of popularity in that state.

Romney 2020 would be Anderson 1980

Biden ~51% 413 EV
Trump ~41% 119 EV
Romney ~7% 6 EV

"Man, he really wants to help deal a finishing blow to Trump, doesn't he?"

That is very debatable and I’m not willing to risk it. Biden is getting a lot of Never Trump support now, and Dems have made gains in the suburbs and are poised to make more. Romney could
jeopardize these things. Meanwhile it’s hard to see many remaining Trump supporters flocking to Romney. What little soft support he has could, perhaps, but his base will remain steadfast.

Not sure why people are saying this would hurt Biden. If anything, it’d shave off a lot of reluctant Trump supporters who wouldn’t vote for a Democrat but don’t like Trump either, meaning Biden would win by 400+ EVs.

How did Romney go so senile so fast? There's no benefit to him from doing this, especially when he'd be unable to get on the ballot in most States.

He would hurt Biden. It would give moderate Republicans/suburban whites "a way out" without having to support a Dem.
