Who's the most likely person to replace Harsin at Boise State? I'm honestly thinking Coastal Carolina head coach Jamey Chadwell is a possible hire there.
Why?? Chadwell's spent his whole career in the South — no chance he leaves for a job in the Mountain West. Most likely candidates are Oregon DC Andy Avalos (former DC at Boise), Cowboys OC Kellen Moore (played QB at Boise), Falcons OC Dirk Koetter (former Boise coach who may be looking for a retirement job), or someone with success in the region like Jeff Choate at Montana State or Brent Brennan at SJSU. It's a very appealing but tricky job — they're probably leaving that conference and need a good recruiter to balance out their talent-sparse region.

The last time Boise State hired a head coach, they hired Harsin, who had previously been the head coach at Arkansas State and an assistant at Texas.

It's not unrealistic to think Chadwell's a plausible hire.
Harsin grew up in Boise, played there, and was their OC for five years.

Why would you want to go from Coastal Carolina to the Mountain West anyways? I would argue the Sun Belt is much more competitive these days, especially since they had two teams in the top 20 this year

Boise State is arguably a stronger program.

Also, that blue turf they play on is awesome.

There's also talk that Boise may be joining the AAC (this has been talked about for some time, but it seems to be heating up lately).

Nick Saban is a Chinese plot to interfere with our elections playoffs!

They should be investigating a lot of schools for this.

I would think most Division I (and probably even the majority of Division II and III) schools have illegal ties to the Chinese Communist Party somewhere on campus.

I don't know about a home advantage; the Bulldogs have a 1-3 record at MBS (admittedly against very tough opponents).

Earlier in the season I would have picked Cincy, but I'm going with Georgia because it seems like we finally got our QB situation straightened out.

Heisman finalists are out.

Quote
Alabama teammates Mac Jones and DeVonta Smith, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Florida quarterback Kyle Trask were announced as Heisman Trophy finalists on Thursday night.

Personally, my vote is for Mac Jones. Who would you vote for?

Boise is down to the top two candidates, should get a decision soon. Sometimes the obvious name is the right one.

Its hard to give it to an Alabama player...the Heisman is (in theory) the award for the best individual player on a team. While Mac Jones is certainly good, how much of that is due to him and how much is it due to having literally the best players in the country at almost every position to back him up?  I'm not sure who gets it this year, but I think Trask has shown how he kept Florida in the season and Trevor showed his value in his absence against Notre Dame.

Probably Lawrence. He never had the "Heisman moment" but he seems to be the consensus best player in college football.

The Tulsa Mississippi State Game on Thursday might not happen. Not because of covid, but because snow is possible in the DFW area. Normally this wouldn't be enough to cancel a game, but the DFW area may have very bad traffic issues due to the snow event, if it happens.

Play it in front of an empty stadium then, which is better for COVID anyway.

What I mean is the players legitimately might not be able to get to the stadium given how bad DFW gets in these situations, though it may hold off until after the bowl game now.
