Anyway, they say if Thaksin doesn't step down in 48 hours, the situation is going to "escalate". Tough to say what that means, but things are going to get ugly.

Whatever the case, I think Thaksin is finished. He will not be PM at the end of the year, at least. In fact, he'll probably by gone by the time opebo gets back to Thailand.

Woohoo!  I hope you're right!  And I do think you are, honestly. 

I read yesterday that bars in Bangkok are already closing at 2:00AM instead of the ridiculous 1:00AM again (though of course just 5-6 years ago they were 24/7).  This edging towards freedom of the bars is to me the surest sign that Thai Rak Thai is losing control!
