Why is Tulsa, despite being quite urban, such a Republican County? Oklahoma County has trended Dem noticeably, but not here. Why?

In the South, Democrats’ vote share among white voters with higher education is far lower than in most other areas of the country, and they still have a lot of catching up to do in this area. Although the urban core of Tulsa is D-leaning, the suburban/exurban/rural parts of Tulsa County are strongly R-leaning, more than enough to cancel out Democratic strength in the urban area.
