Fixing a grammar error in an amendment is kinda a stretch.

Yeah, grammar changes can be done by the PPT/DPPT.

Yeah, grammar changes can be done by the PPT/DPPT.

I tend to forget that is an explicit power in the rules, mainly because for so long it wasn't.

Either way, going to declare the amendment adopted.

Seems like this should pass the senate so why don't you get a vote started?

The Senate would be well-advised to adequately debate this, I'd urge them not to rush it through. This is very consequential and if passed hastily, would lead to a spike in mass shootings. The Senate has done little to address these concerns.

Why people are not trying to debate any amendment?
Why rushing like that?

Objecting to the final vote motion. There should be more debate on this bill.

The proponents of this bill have not outlined any reason as for why it should be passed.

We do not intend to simply stand idly by while you repeal a law that has saved lives and will continue to.

You still never proved it with a source.

Honestly, isn't it common sense that military-style weapons don't belong on the streets, not sure how you can deny this in good faith.

that's the point, literally everyone's position on this is known so it's not worth debating much

Considering you have made clear on multiple occasions that no weapons should be in the hands of civilians and you support repealing our right to bear arms, anything you have to say isn't worth debate.

Quote
4.) When debate on legislation has halted for longer than 24 hours and the legislation has been on the floor for more than 72 hours, any Senators may call for a vote on said legislation. The presiding officer shall open a vote if no other member of the Senate objects within 24 hours of the call for a vote. When the legislation has been on the floor for more than 72 hours, any Senators may motion for cloture. Upon the concurrence of two-thirds of the Senate, the Senate shall end debate, and proceed to a final vote. If the legislation has been on the floor for more than 336 hours, or debate has ceased for 24 hours, a simple majority is needed in order to end the debates. The presiding officer shall then open a final vote.

Some PMs have led me to believe that there is some confusion as to how cloture works or is initiated in the Senate, so I am just gonna leave this here.

The pending business is Tack's Amendment. Someone should open a vote on that.

Amendments have a minimum debate time in the Senate, plus the election cycle normally slows things down in the chamber.
