I support the mindset that we should be keeping decisions as local as possible. From Section 2, Clause i, I would recommend striking “school board, or other authority.” I think giving school boards the power is fine and local enough. “Local authority is extremely vague and could apply to principles/teachers since they have authority. I would also strike clause ii in its entirety - following the spirit of the bill, these decisions should be made at the local level. A teacher shouldn’t be able to teach 50 Shades of Gray and then not face any disciplinary action because of a regional mandate.
