Queen - Who Wants to Live Forever

Who dares to love forever?
Ohhhh, when love must die?

But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips

I am totally into Metallica in these days.

Especially the live album S&M. I would describe it with one word: epic.

Explanation.
In general I think I have a predilection for English hymns or more broadly stuff you can find at The Last Night of The Proms - which kinda sucks since I am Italian.
I particularly like I vow to thee my country and Jerusalem for various reasons. Lately I am very much into the latter, I love it as a Christian hymn (even though, again, the direct references to England are a bit estranging). For some reason I especially love the verses "And did the Countenance Divine / shine forth upon our clouded hills?"

I rediscovered this one pretty much by chance two days ago and I unironically think it's one of Eminem's best songs.

Fabrizio De André - La guerra di Piero

I just wanted to do an Italian song for once.

Like many of De André's works, a masterpiece of Italian folk music. A dry story about the senselessness of war.

The Day That Never Comes

"Waiting for the one, the day that never comes" is literally how I am feeling about this U.S. presidential election right now.

This is my favourite rock song. It is both a masterpiece and the song that symbolizes my romantic relationship. Purple heart

My girlfriend broke up with me literally the day after I posted this... that's a level of cosmic irony unimaginable...

Unsurprisingly I've been listening to November Rain (and sobbing) a lot in the last week.

Today I found out this, which to my surprise is even more chilling and emotional than his rendition of Hurt:

To commemorate (*weeps*) one month of singledom:

The song obviously is originally by Fausto Leali, but I couldn't find any official channel of his, and Andrea Bocelli is much more famous internationally anyways.

"Mi manchi" means "I miss you"

"No Leaf Clover" and "− Human" are the two new original songs in the album S&M. I've been listening very often to both lately. They are both incredibly awesome and make me emote/vibe/feel 'connected' a lot. I'm a Metallica Christian.

Metallica - Atlas, Rise!

Published in 2016. Given the name I struggle to think of a song more appropriate to this place.

I am not totally sure what the surreal long collection of iconic characters that is the lyrics of Desolation Row actually means, but this song remains a lyrical masterpiece.

Perhaps my favourite Dylan song. Certainly his supreme poetic achievement (which is of course, by Dylan’s standards, saying a lot), and one of the most epic album closers of all time.

I was certain you would have appreciated this and commented on it, which is part of why the next song I will post in this thread is going to be St. Anger (the other part being that, indeed, I have listened to it a lot in the last month).

EDIT: I notice Santander appreciated this too! So I can kill two birds with one Metallica stone later.

As promised. This song talks about letting (anger) loose, and its music is very powerful to just let loose on. Also, the video of St. Anger is amazing. Prayers for the inmates of San Quentin.

Today, March 1st, is the feast of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales - a place I have always been fascinated with. Cymru am byth.

St. Anger rocks.

Only in the most literal sense. Metallica is horrible. I do, however, respect Lulu as a project.

I was going to say that it is quite fitting that it is filmed in a prison (aside from the attempt to rip off Johnny Cash): both penitentiaries and Metallica are sweaty, disgusting and mindlessly violent.

I am glad to have triggered you both exactly like I had anticipated, lol.
And there is nothing 'mindless' in Metallica, even if you hate their music.

Absolutely embarrassing, when there is so much great Italian music to listen to, although somewhat forgivable since I assume the Pope the song refers to would be none other than Pius IX.

I agree 100% that as music it’s nothing special, just vulgar 19th century noises - but it’s the message that counts. Wink It indeed refers to none other than the Supreme Pontiff of the One True Church, the infallible Piux IX himself.

You should know though that I am listening to plenty of Arcangelo Corelli, Tomaso Albinoni, Evaristo Felice Dall’Abaco, Antonio Vivaldi, Francesco Geminiani, Pietro Locatelli, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, and various others; so I am well aware of how much great Italian music there is.

When I said great Italian music I had in mind more Lucio Dalla, Lucio Battisti, Fabrizio De André, Francesco De Gregori, Edoardo Bennato, and other such people; but fair enough.

Paging Sol who made me become a lover of this song.

Nice! You are slowly being reeducated Tongue

Seriously, a great song for an album which will always have a special place in my heart as ome of the first I really connected with.

Well, you asked for this.

Not being able to find a video of the full S&M2 I went with its greatest song - All Within My Hands.

This month I have oddly dreamt my ex a lot - at least three times - and so I got reminded of this song I had not listened to in literally years.

Quote
Well you see her when you fall asleep
But never to touch and never to keep
'Cause you loved her too much
And you dived too deep

Sigh...

The piece I have been listening to the most in the last few weeks - a song about believing dedicated to Andy Kaufman.
