Back I go to Berlin. Perhaps my favorite album A-side after only Moondance.

I wish I had the original version with uncensored cover.

I am not totally sure what the surreal long collection of iconic characters that is the lyrics of Desolation Row actually means, but this song remains a lyrical masterpiece.

Perhaps my favourite Dylan song. Certainly his supreme poetic achievement (which is of course, by Dylan’s standards, saying a lot), and one of the most epic album closers of all time.

I was certain you would have appreciated this and commented on it, which is part of why the next song I will post in this thread is going to be St. Anger (the other part being that, indeed, I have listened to it a lot in the last month).

EDIT: I notice Santander appreciated this too! So I can kill two birds with one Metallica stone later.

As promised. This song talks about letting (anger) loose, and its music is very powerful to just let loose on. Also, the video of St. Anger is amazing. Prayers for the inmates of San Quentin.

Quote
I have to say goodbye
And it's breaking my heart
Forever
I wish to carry on
But there're so many places in this world
I'm following my destiny
Crossing the valleys
The seven seas all over the earth
And I'm swearing on my honour
To dethrone the prince of the world

Today, March 1st, is the feast of Saint David, the patron saint of Wales - a place I have always been fascinated with. Cymru am byth.

Just watched the last Sufjan Stevens video, directed by Luca Guadagnino. Stevens is a genius that crafted wonderful songs like 'Chicago' or 'Visions of Gideon'. His album 'Carrie and Lowell' makes me cry, literally. So sad and beautiful

Nasty Czech pressing of the banana album that's sold as "yellow", but basically looks green, especially on the black turntable felt. I would never have bought it if I knew it looked so bad.

Also, playing this album on vinyl is so cliche that I almost always choose another VU or Lou Reed album instead.

Hearing BRTD bash first-wave punks made listening to Cleveland's finest a bit obligatory.
