I really, really wish he were about 10 years younger.

I have grave concerns about his ability to speak clearly, and how it will hold up over the course of a campaign, and the next four years.
Understandable concern, but how is that really relevant to this ad? He sounded pretty good to me.

I thought he sounded a little mushy. And this is him at his very best, probably doing multiple takes for the microphone.
This is taken directly from his speech he gave yesterday. Not pre-prepared.

Exactly.
What is Beef talking about? "Multiple takes"?

I didn't know that this was taken from a live speech, and wasn't recorded in several passes and/or cleaned up in the edit. Because that's what I would do if I were making an campaign ad.

The fact that this was live, public speech is reassuring to me. He sounds pretty good.

Edit: And I didn't know he had stuttering issues. I'm glad he was able to overcome that.

No problem Beet.

Well, that was quick! It's just about everything I should he do as it relates to him making an ad about this current issue.

I am just so astounded about how quickly he and his campaign got their s*** together. That Biden went from being a joke in February to steamrolling in the primary and having consistent, significant leads in polls just a few months later is remarkable. Then again, that was always possible with Trump's tendency to constantly self-implode.

It’s easy to steamroll the primaries when everyone else drops out and endorses you due to being scared to death at the thought of a socialist as their nominee

I get that this site is by far left leaning but why is Biden viewed like such a King in this site?

Everything he does is awesome, so great, makes people emotional for a good thing. He’s viewed as pure royalty on this site.

Were you here during the primaries?

Yes but I’m talking about the last 4-5 weeks or so it’s been super cringeworthy. Feels out of touch with the real world

The real world is showing him up by 10 points in polls.

Funny enough, most democrats in my life (sans the dead enders) are actually far more zealous than most on this forum about Biden!

Atlas Blog has always had a fetish for 1. "populists" and 2. moderate heroes.  There was a poll a couple weeks ago that had something like John Kasich nearly tied with AOC in a hypothetical match-up thread.

There's definitely an obsession among some here to align their politics and voting habits with the average real-life voter.  We literally have a poster from Ukraine who claimed himself to be a "lifelong Blue Dog Democrat".  And these are both just recent examples.

Dude.

I can get snarky and irreverent, but please don't conflate me with the King of All Concern Trolls.

I have never in my life concern trolled.

Pretty sure that was an honest mistake on PM2's part. T and F are very close to each other on the keyboard Tongue.

It probably was a mistake. But I just want it known that when I express an actual opinion about something, I'm being straight with you. I got called a concern troll in 2016 for expressing my fear that Trump would win, and my misgivings about Hillary's email problem. I said this as someone who supported Hillary and gave a ton of my hard-earned money to her campaign. My fear was genuine, and I can support a candidate while also having fears about his or her electability.

I was in the wrong here. I admit that.

Sorry. Yes it was an error.

Totally understandable. Beet and I just to joke about this back in the day.

Beet has also been on the forum way longer than I have. He joined on November 3, 2003, while I didn't join until November 24, 2003. Though I might have timed my registration to claim user #69 :-).

It might have just been that Thanksgiving at my parents' house is boring af and I needed something to do.
