I think that the NHC is going to report 155 MPH winds but that it will be changed to a Cat 5 in the post-season analysis like with Michael a few years ago.  Regardless, this isn't a good situation to say the least.

A new system is organizing in the eastern Caribbean and is expected to become at least a depression by next week.  If it reaches TS status, it will break the record for most named storms in one Atlantic hurricane season.

It will technically just tie the record.  While Zeta was as far as we got in 2005, there was one storm that went undetected and was retroactively included in the 2005 totals.

I just went back to the first page, when the title "stormy and intense" was given, and the initial forecast was for only about half the number of storms that we have had...though I doubt anyone could have predicted THIRTY named storms.
