This is probably one for the 'what if's board, but he would have done marginally better in that he could get a fundraising boost and maybe a polling bump, especially if it happened post-Harris' departure.
However, it would not have saved his doomed candidacy, or allowed him to break out of the pack. It's much harder to get out of the 1-4% doldrums than it it go from, say, 20% to 25%, and he struggled with the former of these two problems throughout his time in the cycle.
I believe the Booker campaign was too optimistic to win the nomination for someone starting on the outside track in 2020.
