Even though, it's mostly name recognition, recent polls have shown that Elizabeth Warren & Kamala Harris poll the best among key Democratic voters. So out of the 2 who do you prefer to be Biden's VP?

I prefer Kamala. Two old white people at the top of ticket would be a bad look in my opinion. Also, Warren's Senate seat would potentially be in much larger jeopardy than Kamala's seat.

Harris seems like the safer option. But her time as a prosecutor worries me in light of recent events. Warren doesn't have that kind of baggage, but she has the potential of scaring off some right leaning moderates.

I think on the whole, Harris is the better choice.

I'll go against the grain and say that Warren will energize the base more, though I expect him to pick Harris.

Yeah, this. If we wanna do everything we can to propel the ticket to victory, then we need to go with Warren.

Warrens literally popular with Latinos and Blacks so her. If you want a safer candidate to appeal to white moms pick Klobuchar. Harris is a useless candidate propped up by the worst of idpol.

Klobuchar IMO. But from this list probably Harris. She's the safe pick.

The idea of having two white people on the ticket? And two old white people? And then add to that, Warren, who is polarizing to a good chunk of people who lean D? Warren may ignite the younger voters, but not really enough to matter.

Harris just makes more sense. She also aligns more ideologically with Biden.

Pretty much this. Trump would love nothing more than to bring up the whole Pocahontas thing over and over again. Also, Warren is 71. Also, she's white. Also, her and Biden don't have a history of getting along. Also, she has a more "professorial" persona that turns off a lot of downscale voters.

EDIT: Warren's advantage is that she could increase turnout on the left, but the #BernieOrBust people aren't going to be convinced by Warren, and the 'soft left' is already going to come out for Biden.

Gretchen Whitmer is a better pick than both though.

Yeah, Biden said he wanted someone "simpatico" and Harris is closer to him than Warren.  I know Warren has been making moves lately to line up with Biden, but after long years of disagreement on domestic economic policy the pivoting is obvious.  Their disagreements started long before the 2020 primary.  Harris and Biden's conflicts were DURING the primary and I think most here are savvy enough to know that's part of the game.

From a strategic standpoint, I'd be more inclined to consider Warren if Biden was clearly behind and needed to shake up the race somehow.  But if he is tied or ahead Harris is the better choice.  I think she's liberal just enough to juice certain parts of the base without scaring off moderate suburban voters.

Kamala, very easily.

Liz isn't a good match. Other than being a woman, she balances the ticket is a just a limited fashion. She has neither a strong base among blacks, nor among Hispanics. And I think her brand of left-wing politicis could hurt in critical suburbs. Yes, she has supprt of progressives, but most of the progressives Warren appeals to live in blue states, so it doesn't really matter electorally. And the Bros who don't support Biden most likely won't change their mind if she is on the ticket. Kamala on the other hand has a case to make in the African American community, especially among black women, who could see her as inspirational figure. She would also be someone who can lead the party after Joe Biden. Kamala is a superior vice presidential pick in every way possible.

Harris. If Warren is the pick, Trump will endlessly run against her policies and by extension Bernie's policies.

Warren is absolutely the best pick Biden make (besides I suppose Michelle Obama).

Harris would be fine, I guess.

Klobuchar would be horrible.  Possible the only choice that would make me think twice about voting for Biden (though I imagine I’d still do it reluctantly).

Warren obviously. Bidens biggest problem is a lack of enthusiasm, Harris doesn't help that.

There is absolutely no evidence that Harris would do a better job energizing black voters than Warren. Polls repeatedly show that Warren is more popular with black Democrats than Harris. She's a better pick than Harris on every dimension.

A clue about Biden's VP PIck.

From the article:

Quote
That conflict between what the left wants and what Biden wouldn’t give them became the dominant narrative about him in the mainstream press. Biden was defined by the things he was against, rather than by the substantial overlap between his policy ideas and those of his progressive critics. Biden is a mainstream Democrat, and as the Democratic Party has grown broadly more progressive in recent years, he is now running on arguably the most progressive policy platform of any Democratic nominee in history.

I might be dead wrong about this —it wouldn't be the first time Tongue —but I wonder if Biden's reverse-pivot (running to the center in the primary and then slowly easing left for the general) might turn out to have been very savvy in the long-run. Dare I say he may have found a way to finesse the socialist issue?
