This is why I think the whole "don't vote for Joe bc he is old" argument from Trump is such a bad strategy for him. If he loses older voters  there is no path for him.

This article matches experience with a lot of people in PA. There are a lot of fairly moderate people from different economic positions who would probably be happy to vote for e.g. Romney in a Romney-vs.-Sanders election, but view Trump as incompetent and personally offensive and are open to any alternative that they see as viable.
