Police needs to start bringing out the riot gear and engaging.

 That works until it doesn't work and then what? One of these days the police bringing out the riot gear isn't going to do anything. Most police forces in major cities are a couple thousand. NYC has the largest force and is 40k if these protest spread, there are not enough police, riot gear, nor jails to stop anything.

 One day with the way things are going you'll wake up to an America where authoritarian crackdowns in the name of "law and order" don't do anything.

The poster I responded to threatened full armed rebellion, armed action that even police and riot police "couldn't handle." I said that should be the response.

A large number of rioters overrun the police, they deserve everything they get. It will repeat again and again until they stop rioting. It won't be normal until they submit. Bring in the army if need be to subdue them. I don't care.

No, I don't think so. Perhaps you could point me to a comprehensive analysis of the attitudes of Sanders supporters towards these saboteurs (because all property damage outside MSP is definitely coordinated sabotage and not in any way linked to the anger of the protests) and the attitudes of the saboteurs to Sanders supporters. Parts of Rose Twitter saying "Rioting can be good, actually" doesn't cut the mustard and in any case, you're supposing the protests are separate from the violence.

The fact that so many people do that shows that they want to break the law. They want to break windows. They want to be troublemakers.

Those who ravage Atlanta, if they continue to choose to not heed the words of their mayor and if they suffer from the inevitable restoration of order in the aftermath, should have no one to blame but themselves. Cops are out of control all over the place. Ahmoud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor murders require that our lawmakers take a strong stand against police misconduct. Unfortunately, Mike LiPetri stands with the police ALL THE TIME. That's his voting block.

Tbh the revelation that the cop and George Floyd worked together (and probably knew each other) leads me to believe that this was less an act of random racism/brutality and that the cop had it out for Floyd for some reason. Doesn't make it any less heinous and if anything he should be guranteed the most serious charges in that situation.

And now the national guard is in Atlanta and Atlanta has historically not had violent protests.
