Police needs to start bringing out the riot gear and engaging.

That works until it doesn't work and then what? One of these days the police bringing out the riot gear isn't going to do anything. Most police forces in major cities are a couple thousand. NYC has the largest force and is 40k if these protest spread, there are not enough police, riot gear, nor jails to stop anything.

One day with the way things are going you'll wake up to an America where authoritarian crackdowns in the name of "law and order" don't do anything but get cops hurt and anger boils over until it's uncontrollable.

Your flamethrowers suggestion is inappropriate. Really, the last thing we need is to dial up tensions even more heavily, and if anything it is also highly disproportionate. Leaving all that aside that it is also very morally fraught of an idea.
There is a reason we stopped using flamethrowers in war.

Then bring on the flamethrowers, tanks, machine guns, and heavy artillery. That'd end this nonsense quick. If this is what your side wants, so be it.

This violence has evolved into a separate issue from the murder of George Floyd. We must not let a small group of people in various cities destroy our communities and country.

They are getting people against their cause! This is ing sad because this was the chance we had to get the general public on the side of Black Lives Matter.

That's a nicely convenient outcome for those opposed to BLM, isn't it?
The most effective way to delegitimize a movement in this country is to make it look like a bunch of violent rebels. So absolutely.

Lol, nice try but the most effective way to delegitimize a movement in this country is to make it to be about minorities.

More like:

Poster threatened full fledged armed rebellion that the police wouldn't be able to stop.

Higgins expressed a desire to see the full force of the US military used against said rebels, if said rebellion happened.

I think if we had some christian equivalent to Al-Qeada in parts of the South, which came to see the US as not christian enough and sought to forcibly make everyone Christian and rebelled against Washington with force of arms, then it would have a worse image than BLM does.

The KKK
The KKK, while similar, is not EXACTLY what I am postulating. They never proclaimed themselves to control territory hitherto under the control of the United States and never sought to separate any territory from the US.
In practice no significant movement in the Continental US has directly opposed the territorial  integrity of the country since the Civil War.

Thus far, Minneapolis is pretty quiet.

CNN headquarters in Atlanta have been overrun (same building as a police station). Protestors being beaten violently in Brooklyn. Precinct in Brooklyn possibly was taken over. Protestors being driven over by cars in Bakersfield.
If a mob of angry people swarmed my car and started climbing on it, pulling on the door, or pounding on the window, than you can be damn well be sure I'd hit the gas pedal too. This was an aggressive attack on a driver who was not on a closed down street.

That's...not what happened.
I'm not talking about a cop. This was a civilian in Las Angeles.

The post you quoted was talking about people being run over in Bakersfield.
Is that where it was? I saw the video and it had been labeled as LA.

People SHOULD be opposed to BLM.  They are not "liberal" and they are not about "justice".  They are about power through intimidation, and that's a lose-lose for all.

The protests/riots/looting in MSP are a very different thing than the violent attacks going on around the country. Those groups are largely white and seem to be trying to escalate the situation as much as possible.
