The GOP on Long Island and in NY as a whole is in a complete mess, and this sure as hell won't help.

Long Island:  A Great Place to Leave

you hit the nail on the head.

all the normal people have left.  the ny is now stuck with mainly miscreants, who, of course, are prone to doing stupid things, like voting for eliot spitzer/

Hey Walter I'm still here!

true, but youre the last of a dying breed.

im sure one day you will want to move somewhere with a better qualityof life and lower cost of living.  ny is pretty damn bad now, but wait until eliot spitzer gets through with it.  scary.

Oh I definatly want to leave. Unfortunatly the downside to being a high school student is that...I actually have to live here. Well atleast I only have a year and a half left.

Once Spitzer is done the place will be even better.  The cost of living no question is very high, but keep in mind LI has many of the best school districts in the country as well as the lowest crime rates in the country, it doesn't have the wacknut right wing social conservative extremism

I'm a diehard Islander fan, but missed their dynasty days (well I was alive for the last two cups, but I don't count being a  week or two old and a year old.

As far as Boss tweed maybe either in a week long drunk stooper somewhere or too busy starting a grassroots Steve Israel for President organization.

Don't talk smack about Long Island.  We have a bunch of hispanic illegals, but every area has its faults.

Other than areas of Boston, I'd rather live here than anywhere in the USA.

The cost of living is matched by the wages, so what's the difference? Plus, there are actually decent public schools here, and a semi-decent medicaid program and whatnot.
