Since McAffee and Mr. Taxation is Theft have dropped out apparently I guess it is time to reluctantly back Vermin Supreme

Tbh the fact that the Libertarian party has accepted him as a serious candidate still blows my mind.

Is there any sort of 2020 debate highlights out there?

Vermin lit up a joint near the end of the debate

This is a mess.

Can't wait to see who wins it.

You're also probably going to see a few independent campaigns from this, because it doesn't seem like the process is being respected and treated like a real convention.

I'm interested to see what the LP and Green Party put out for their tickets, they're going to get record low votes this election.

GP ticket is almost surely Howie Hawkins & Angela Nicole Walker, the running mate he already selected.

LP is either going to be Jacob Hornberger, Jo Jorgensen, Jim Gray & Larry Sharpe, or Vermin Supreme & Spike Cohen.

Hot take: Vermin Supreme would do the best in the general election.

With all the big names gone, it's now a cold take. Name ID + meme factor + crossover appeal is is the recipe for maximising Libertarian success this time.

Cold take. He's funny and memey enough that people would vote for him.

You know who would be a great candidate? Take Justin Amash’s views and put them into Andrew Yangs body. Libertarian Andrew Yang would be a really funny.

Night 1 ends in really dragged-out, tiring fashion; with some evident tension between the conventional and radical wings of the party. Expect some drama tomorrow.

Presidential voting begins at 10AM CST tomorrow, streamed on the LNC YouTube channel.

Slightly OT:

Does anybody have a clip or remember that Libertarian PRES Debate from ('12?) where one the candidates did this huge shtick about how somehow freedom is the "right to defend your marijuana plantations with machine guns"?

I might be slight misremembering the exact quote, but it was a noteworthy LBT debate.

It might have also been the same one, where the guy stripped down to his underwear onstage....

Anyways.... would love to see someone refresh my memory, since naturally LBT PRES debates are frequently extremely interesting, and again regret that I missed the 2020 Debate.    Sad

Not a Mockinjay here, but rather I appreciate 3rd Parties trying to keep the Major Parties honest, while simultaneously, not getting the proper coverage for the two major political parties....

You're thinking of 2016, where the guy stripped on stage. The quote was from Austin Petersen, something along the lines of, "I want to watch my gay neighbors defend their marijuana plants with machine guns".

And here's a link to the debate you missed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KC6sTITu6E

I watched the LNC stripper on live CSPAN. I was screaming and laughing  so loudly that my roommates came in to watch.

Could Sharpe become VP regardless of who wins? He seems like the strongest candidate on either ticket (except Supreme ofc)

OK, here's the new stream.

Anyone can watch the livestream. Only the Libertarian delegates can vote. Right now they're freaking out right now because only 800-odd of the 1000-odd delegates actually showed up for the call.

Ask OP. I'm no Libertarian. Just assuming Jo Jorgenson like everyone else is but I'm just here for the clown show.

These candidates get to be in the nomination process:

Hornberger 218
Jorgensen 193
Supreme 103
Monds 95
Gray 89
Kokesh 58

Vohra a close miss (27). Amash nearly makes it too despite not seeking the nomination.

I assume Amash's 27 go to Gray, but he seemed to have failed hard anyway.

Are you telling me Vermin Supreme is in third place for the LP nomination?
