Thanks to his handling of the coronavirus in the state -and I am sure it doesn't hurt that he is a doctor too:

Poll: Northam's approval rating soars during crisis; Biden leads Trump in Va.

Quote
A new Roanoke College Poll finds Virginians’ job approval for Gov. Ralph Northam has soared 19 points to 59% since February, as more than half of respondents think Virginia is headed in the right direction.

Northam was viewed favorably by 46% of those polled, the highest since he’s been in office, up from 27% in February. The percentage who view the governor unfavorably dropped slightly from February, to 31%.

“While the coronavirus is certainly negative for people, it has been a boon for perceptions of Gov. Northam,” said Harry Wilson, director of the Roanoke College Poll. “His job rating and favorable views are not only at all-time highs, but they shattered those previous records.”

If any governor doesn't merit approval, it's gotta be Ralph Aborthem.

He's definitely one of my least favorite of the Democratic governors. But yes, the virus has generally given a boost to politicians' approval ratings, if they handle it properly.

We could have this thread for at least 45 governors.

I'm still astounded he managed to survive last year's thing, but now he's popular. This dude, awful as he is, is, like, indestructible.

When the President gets away with mocking disabled people and POWs, the public is naturally going to grow numb to things like this
