I don't exactly keep it secret from this forum that I have assimilated/intermarried/Christianized Jewish great-grandparents. (My real full name is noticeably Eastern European Jewish.) It doesn't make me feel particularly ashamed or self-conscious about my own faith commitments, which I chose myself--the resentment I'm expressing here is tongue-in-cheek--but not all of my extended relations feel the same way about theirs. And it does give me something of a sixth sense for detecting antisemitism in Christian spaces.
