Does anyone have any information regarding how the new Texas districts voted in the race for President? I would like this information in light of the change in lines.

I think the Almanac of American Politics does just that.  I have it in my hand, but it will be a chore to type all of that.

Since Texas has 32 districts, I will do 8 at a time.

TX-01: Bush 64% Gore 36%
TX-02: Bush 63% Gore 37%
TX-03: Bush 72% Gore 28%
TX-04: Bush 70% Gore 30%
TX-05: Bush 62% Gore 38%
TX-06: Bush 67% Gore 33%
TX-07: Bush 68% Gore 32%
TX-08: Bush 78% Gore 22%

Some of the inner city districts coming up.  Gore will win a few of those, no worries.

Took a little break, now the next 8:

TX-09: Bush 55% Gore 45%
TX-10: Gore 53% Bush 47%
TX-11: Bush 67% Gore 33%
TX-12: Bush 67% Gore 33%
TX-13: Bush 75% Gore 25%
TX-14: Bush 67% Gore 34%
TX-15: Gore 55% Bush 45%
TX-16: Gore 59% Bush 41%

Gore's victories seem to come in majority-hispanic districts.

Are those the CDs used in the 2002 elections or the ones approved for 2004?

Migrendel was asking for the 2004 ones.

Shouldn't they be the same thing?

Start here: http://www.tlc.state.tx.us/research/redist/redist.htm

Click on the REDVIEWER, and pick the "U.S. Congressional Districts in Effect for the 2004 Elections". It could take a while to load, depending on your connection...

PLANC01374 is the one you want.

Did I mention it could take a while to load? If it's working...at this moment it appears not to be. In any event, there is voting preference data - "a weighted average of the results of all general election statewide contested contests" from 2000 - available, either through REDVIEWER or through the report package pdf here: http://www.tlc.state.tx.us/research/redist/redist.htm
