North Coast. Bay Area voted for Feinstein.

What does that have to do with anything

Progressives have little to gain from a rather unintelligent junior senator without strong party backing

The North Coast voted for de Leon.

Along with progressive strongholds such as the Central valley and the inland empire. Incredible observation.

The North Coast is reliably Democratic. Isn’t the Central Valley full of Republicans who hate Feinstein?

North Coast is largely white and Democratic; Feinstein loses. Santa Ana/Hacienda Heights are largely Hispanic and Democratic; Feinstein wins.

The point is that this election does absolutely nothing to indicate how progressive a region is. Not even a little bit.

And all anyone needs to do is look at the preceding election between Harris and Sanchez to see that.

Heavily Democratic Santa Ana voted for Sanchez and Feinstein. Humboldt County voted for Harris and de Leon, while also being heavily Democratic. Didn’t Berkeley also vote for Harris and de Leon?

Humboldt County gave over 33% to Sanchez whereas the only Bay Area county Sanchez reached 30% in was Contra Costa, and just barely.

I'd say the Emerald Coast (Humboldt and Mendocino) in Northern California. Seems to be a lot of jfern-like minded folks up that way where the Green Party tends to have strong support. Humboldt was Bernie's best county in both the 2016 and 2020 Democratic primaries. Jill Stein almost surpassed the tangerine tyrant in Arcata as well, finishing just two points behind him (I think Arcata was her best city in terms of percentage of votes received). Sanders even got 2.5 percent of the vote in Arcata in 2016 as a write-in.

Feinstein won Berkeley, but lost Arcata.

Bay Area is less anti-establishment then North Coast, IMHO, though both are generally progressive.

Is the Orange County party more like Los Angeles, Bay Area, or North Coast?
