This needs to be sent to any of the 7-8% of those voters who would even consider voting for Trump.  This ad drives the point home.

Biden will have to own Obama's role in unpreparedness.  Trump will not have to own Bush 43's role.

Biden was so prepared for coronavirus that he had to go in hiding for a week to set up a disastrous livestream

Obama was so unprepared he created the pandemic response office that Trump cut.

I see this is going to be the "Who can hate the Chinese the most" election.

Don't care for how this ad makes no real effort to distinguish between the Chinese government and the Chinese people. Of course you can say "criticizing the Chinese government isn't racist!" and you would be correct, but frankly most Americans aren't gonna think of it that way, which is why hate crimes against Asians have dramatically risen lately. This ad is irresponsible.

China is responsible for this pandemic, regardless of any critique of the situation.  The Wuhan Virus, itself, is China's fault.

In America, we get to blame other nations for problems they cause, and name them, specifically.  It's up to individuals for refraining from harming other individuals.  If China doesn't want the scorn, let them behave properly with regard to their laboratory experiments.

Yeah, I have to agree with this. It wouldn't really take away from the ad to replace all instances of "China" with "China's government", "the government of China", "Chinese President Xi", etc.

Disagree. We can’t let the language police win this one — for Biden to effectively attack Trump’s weakness on China, he must use clear and understandable terms and symbolism. This ad does that.

I saw this yesterday, and honestly, it's a good ad.  It really hit's on Trump foolishly lavishing praise on chairman Xi, which undermines his "tough on China" narrative.

Of course, Biden has years and decades of soft-on-China rhetoric that he'll have to defend so we'll have to wait and see what Trump's team can dredge up.

I mean I would probably focus on Trump wasting two months by denying it, especially since Biden has already made ads around that angle. Saying "Chinese government" doesn't ruin the message either.

Also this is bigger than "mean words hurt my feelings!" but I think you know that.

It's not a matter of semantics at all. America has nothing against the people of China, Iran, or North Korea. It is their governments that we are against, and it benefits us to draw that distinction.

Being "soft-on-China" is good for Americans it lowers the prices of goods that are produced in China when we're not hitting them with outrageous and irresponsible tariffs.

They should have been more careful with the language, but it would never occur to most Americans to interpret this as meaning all Chinese people are at fault.

Well yeah, if you value cheap, disposable low quality goods to consoom and the upper 5% financial class that run this country over China's concentration camps, geopolitical aggression, world domination ambitions, taking control of our allies telecommunications (5G), spying, IP theft  and other massive human rights violations (not to mention this current crisis they've foisted upon the world), then sure. You got a point.

You know we are talking about Chinese-Americans and ordinary Chinese people, right?
Had we treated Christians half the way you seem to want to allow people to treat the Chinese, you would be screaming 24/7 about persecution.

Yeah this only offends Blue Checks on Twitter. The average person with a functioning brain knows he is talking about the government.

Trump attacks illegal immigrants and doesn’t properly distinguish them from regular Latinos: “Trump is an evil genocidal racist!”
Biden attacks the Chinese Government and doesn’t properly distinguish them from regular Chinese people: “Eh as long as Biden gets elected I don’t care.”
