OLD TITLE:

Survey: Are there Christian teachings in other religions, philosophies etc. ?

Rather than doing a poll, I am doing a survey. Answer however you would like.

By "other..." I have to exclude Judaism, for an obvious reason.

Many of you may see a yes/no dichotomy as an oversimplification, so doing a poll would be difficult, although I would say an emphatic Yes, I don't think all religions are the same and some may(?) be a little better than others.

I think that although religions are different in many ways, there is some overlap.

If there is a God(ess) you would be able to find the Divine in yourself and in many scriptures and non scriptures (like Shakespeare), so in a sense everything written is (divinely?) inspired.

This, is a form of (quasi?, ersatz?) universalism.

I think that perhaps however you define the word "truth" may be infinite, but also not infinite in the sense of universalism basic teachings (for example Dhammapada 183).

To get an idea of all of this the following website may be a good place to start:

https://sacred-texts.com/

If you want to limit yourself to Christianity:

https://sacred-texts.com/chr/index.htm

or simply:
https://sacred-texts.com/bib/index.htm

I have combined the second post with the one
-----------------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------------

Also if you don't see anything good about Christianity, maybe a better question is do you believe that there are such things as "good" and "truth" and if so where do you find them and if not why do you believe that?

EDIT: ALTHOUGH, I have changed the title, I'd still be more interested in comments on the original title, as the new title is just an example of the topic of this thread.

edit number 2: I would also be interested in how many of the fifteen that you agree with,
perhaps some day I will do a poll on that question.
