With coronavirus ravaging the country, I was thinking about what could be done to stop this virus.

Here's an idea I came up with.

Mitch McConnell comes in contact with Kay Ivey and Richard Shelby. Here's the deal

1. Richard Shelby retires two years early. He's getting very old and it's probably not a good idea for him to stay working during a pandemic that affects old people.
2. Kay Ivey appoints Jeff Sessions to the Class 3 U.S. Senate seat.
3. Jeff Sessions drops his bid for the Class 2 U.S. Senate seat.
4. Tommy Tuberville wins the primary.
5. The runoff is cancelled and people can stay at home.
6. It will encourage more people to drop out from their primaries or runoffs, so they'd be cancelled and fewer people will vote and expose themselves.

Then in the Class III special, which happens in early 2021, Moore runs and beats Sessions in the primary. Doug Jones, having just lost the Class II seat, runs in the special and wins again.

Or just conduct the election by mail.

Get real, Roy Moore is done after his 2017 loss. Of course Sessions would lose his primary, but it would be to a Republican who isn't Roy Moore (and if he was somehow against just Moore, then he'd win).

This. Canceling elections is not the answer.

Bolded for emphasis.

Better to be 73 than 85.
