We have no idea if this virus is seasonal. Being populist does not have to mean not trusting in experts, friend, and it's too early for us to say something like you just did if we are to be smart about this.
Anyway, I think this will hurt him. I do still think people somewhat inaccurately conflate Republican voters' willingness to
stick with a controversial politician and their willingness to
nominate a candidate they see as a liability (obvious exceptions, of course). In fact, the former logically leads to the latter.
