Thumb21 for House of Representatives

I'm running for one more term in the House. In these times especially, people want politicians who have a proven record of working hard for people. I'm running because I want to see more power handed to the people through political reform, a stronger social safety net and more money in people's pockets. You can find out more about where I stand on the issues in my platform; and I'll be writing an update for people on what I and others have been doing in response to Coronavirus. (Both of these will be added soon)

Coronavirus Update

I wish everyone the best health in this time. Every Atlasian's life has been seriously impacted by Coronavirus and tragically, more and more people are losing relatives or getting very sick. We must understand the seriousness of the situation and work hard. I have written two bills to help fight the crisis as well as playing an active role, helping to write or amend 3 others. As speaker, I've also added three new slots to make sure that bills about this crisis reach the floor as urgently as possible. The House has passed several measures on Coronavirus including:

- Coronavirus Containment and Emergency Response Act -
   This bill was passed at the start of the crisis. It provides free testing and
   treatment, paid leave for those affected by the virus, and increases funding
   for fighting the virus.
- More Money for Hurting Small Businesses Act -
   This bill provides support to small businesses to help them get through the crisis.
- Emergency Economic Stimulus Act of 2020 -
   This bill was the main stimulus. It provides a monthly universal income of $2000 per
   adult and $1000 per child, income tax cuts for working and middle class people plus freezes
   on rents and mortgages. Loans for businesses were also offered with strong conditions
   including keeping their workers and collective bargaining agreements, plus no stock
   buybacks or excecutive bonuses.
- More Funding to Combat COVID-19 Act -
   This bill increases the funding in the original Coronavirus Containment and Emergency Response
   Act.
- Support for Frontline Workers of the 2019-2020 Coronavirus Pandemic Resolution -
   This resolution gives frontline workers priority for testing and uses the invokation of
   Defence Production Act to mass produce testing equipment, personal protective equipment,
   ventilators and masks.

More will be done in the next few weeks and I'll keep this list updated.
