The Velvet Underground are most famous for their song “Rock and Roll” in which very prominently a named Jenny is “saved by Rock and Roll” and not by Jesus Christ. Did the Velvet Underground sow the seeds of secularism and anti-Christianism in minds of America’s 20th century youth? Is Rock and Roll supposing itself to be a false idol?

It's a subtle Arminian critique of "once saved always saved" theology. You have to have a very high IQ to understand it.

I just found this thread.

That shouldn't be a surprise as I have not heard a single song by the Velvet Underground.

I am however huge on the emo Velvet Underground.
