This is actually a real possibility. Who will win if both runoff candidates in the nonpartisan runoff are republicans?

Collins would be clearly favored, and would win by at least 15.

It is a possibility and it would be very dissapointing for the Dems if they could've gotten to a senate majority through winning this race. I think the Democrats should try to narrow it down to 2 canidates on the open primary ballot.

Agree, one of my best friends lives in Georgia and that's what he expects.

Wouldn’t Democrats vote for Loefller in this scenario and along with Suburban Republicans give Loeffler the win

Democrats don't show up to vote for Democrats in the runoff. Why would they show up to vote for Senator Horse Girl (R-Corruption)?

"Suburban Republicans" aren’t a monolith, and Democrats have little to zero incentive to support Kelly Loeffler in a runoff.

Safe Collins, even if Trump endorses Loeffler.

Ew.

Whenever I can vote I will vote, even if it is a runoff with only two republican options. Before this insider trading stuff id prefer Loeffler over Collins.

See:  MS GOP Primary 2014

Loeffler could certainly just demagogue Collins enough to get liberals/Black voters on her side

I'd still have to pick the fake Trumpist over the real deal any day.

Collins would win.

Democrats would be smart to turn out for Loeffler here. She is incredibly weak statewide and would go down easily in 2022 during the regularly scheduled election, especially with Abrams leading the ticket and if Trump is reelected, which seems likely if the runoff somehow was Collins v. Loeffler.

You can only vote in the runoff for the party you voted for in the first round.

Really, in a jungle primary? Georgia has jungle primaries for special elections.

But the runoff is the general election & the first round is the jungle primary?

I think Loeffler becomes tougher in a rematch, as the stock stuff may have blown over by that point and she will have an incumbency advantage.

The reason Loeffler was picked over Collins is to appeal to the suburban woman crowd that are leaving the republican party in droves.

Honestly, I could see this as a massive landslide for Collins. 70-30. Not many people will want to show up for Loeffler in a runoff, and with no Democrat to vote for AND no lesser evil, why should Democratic voters bother to show up in large numbers? It's like Kemp vs. Cagle 2018 but in a general election.

Creates a great environment for a Dougslide in my eyes.
