Aug. 22, 2025: President Harris and Senate Democrats propose bill to repeal Tax Bill under Trump Presidency

Wikimedia Commons

Today, President Harris met with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrats in the Senate to propose a bill that would repeal the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. The Tax Bill of 2017 had effects that hurt coastal blue states and overall it cut taxes for the super rich which in effect caused the deficit to go up dramatically. Moderate Republicans in the House have raised concern about the deficit and some have said that they will support the bill proposed by Democrats. The bill also might have some support among Republicans in the Senate, including Utah Senator Mitt Romney and Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski. Harris and Schumer and fairly confident that this bill will be passed by the Senate and House, and will be singed into law in a few months by President Harris. A vote in the Senate will take place in a few weeks after all details of the bill are finalized.
.

I have a feeling that would actually happen earlier under Biden's administration.

Sept. 1, 2025: Proposed Repeal of Tax Bill Passes in the Senate

Wikimedia Commons

Today, the proposed repeal of the Tax Bill, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has passed in the United States Senate by a vote of 51 votes in favor to 49 votes against the proposed bill. All Democrats and two Republicans voted to repeal the Tax Bill. Vermont Republican Senator Phil Scott and Alaska Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski voted with Democrats to repeal the 2017 Tax Bill that gave the rich massive tax cuts. Many expected Utah Republican Senator Mitt Romney to vote with the Democrats, but in the end he decided to vote against the repeal, which was unexpected. The vote will now move to the House in which many believe it will pass, while others are unsure as the chamber is controlled by Republicans.

Oct. 1, 2025: House investigations intensify, possible Impeachment Inquiry

Wikimedia Commons

Investigations on Harris' record as Attorney General and as prosecutor have intensified and key witnesses are being called to speak in front of the House in the Judiciary Committee and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. Witnesses are being questioned about their coverup of details and important information. Key witnesses have been given a subpoena and are going to testify in the House in the coming weeks. Some witnesses include former Harris staffers, public defenders, and notably the current United States Attorney General, former California Attorney General and close Harris ally Xavier Becerra. Becerra is expected to testify in the beginning of next month. The investigations by House Republicans are unpopular with the majority of Americans, with 88% of Democrats and 55% of Independents disapproving of the investigations. Many believe that a House Impeachment Inquiry might follow if the Republicans find more details. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has refused to comment on this, and House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries has called the investigations "a partisan move to discredit and undermine a popular President who was elected in a legitimate election."

She's not impeached yet and an inquiry hasn't even started yet, it might not happen. Impeachment in my opinion will become very common for different reasons in the future.

Payback for Trump, and Democrats will do the same to the next Republican president as a payback for Harris. The cycle continues!

Oct. 28, 2025: Climate Change Task Force meeting stalled over disagreements, next meeting postponed until next session of Congress in January.

Wikimedia Commons

Today, the White House announced that the next meeting on Climate Change will be stalled until the next session of congress in January of 2026. The Democrats and Republicans in Congress disagreed over Climate Change and when the next meeting should take place. Senate Majority Leader Schumer, a Democrat and Speaker of the House McCarthy, a Republican agreed to meet again in the beginning of next year. Both have stated that the priority is to find a solution to Climate Change, that would fix the issue and would make our country and the world a safer place. Many are skeptical that President Harris, Schumer, and McCarthy will compromise and agree on a solution. Democrats have a more radical stance on the issue, while the Republicans are not so convinced on the dangers of Climate Change, and don't take the issue as seriously as the Democrats, led by President Harris. Harris spoke today and stated, "Climate Change is the greatest threat we are currently facing to our society and human civilization. We need to work with our majority in the United States Senate, Democrats in the House, and Republicans in Congress to find a solution that we can compromise on.

Nov. 28, 2025: Donald Trump dead at 79

Wikimedia Commons

Breaking News. Former President Donald Trump is dead at age 79 on Thanksgiving night. Trump won a stunning victory in the 2016 Election against Secretary Hillary Clinton, the wife of former President Bill Clinton. Trump served as President for four years and lost the 2020 Presidential Election against then Vice President Joe Biden. Harris is considered by many as one of the worst President in modern American history. Trump was considered as reckless and out of touch by the majority of Americans. His response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, were not popular and were considered weak and overall made both issues worse in the mind of voters.

Trump's death was quick and unexpected. Trump died of a heart-attack, his family has announced. President Kamala Harris spoke and stated, "I would like to give my condolences to Donald's entire family, including his wife and children." Trump was asked if she or Vice President Buttigieg will be attending his funeral on Tuesday, December 2nd. Harris stated, I spoke with Vice President Buttigieg earlier today. Neither, I or the Vice President will be in attendance. We wish the best to Donald's entire family." Former President George W. Bush, former Vice President Mike Pence, UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, among others will be in attendance. Trump's oldest son, Donald Trump Jr. showed anger towards President Harris on twitter. Trump Jr. tweeted, Harris is not even welcome at my father's funeral. She would just cause controversy which we do not need to celebrate my father's legacy as the best American President! Former President Biden has not announced if he will be attending Trump's funeral, but most believe that he will not be in attendance.

Dec. 26, 2025: Mitch McConnell resigns from the Senate

Wikimedia Commons

In an unexpected move, former Senate Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has resigned from the Senate today, effective immediately, siting "health concerns." McConnell, a Republican has served in the Senate for 40 years since 1985 and served seven terms in the United States Senate from Kentucky. McConnell became the Majority Whip in 2003, and then the Republican leader in 2007. McConnell became the Majority Leader in 2015 when the Republicans took back the Senate in the 2014 Midterm Elections. McConnell stepped down when Republicans lost their Senate Majority in the 2022 Midterm Elections after winning it back in 2021. McConnell for a long time was known as the most unpopular United States Senator.

McConnell has also been known to not get much done during his time and has been a thorn in the side of many Presidents, including Democratic President Barack Obama, whom McConnell refused to work with. McConnell was quoted saying in 2010 that his "top priority was making Obama a one-term president," which put him under fire by most Democrats and members of the media. McConnell refused to work with Obama and divided the nation. It was not known that McConnell was sick, McConnell did say that he resigned because of health concerns, but that was all he revealed.

Kentucky Democratic Governor Andy Beshear will pick an interm appointment to replace McConnell. Beshear announced today that he has picked Kentucky Lieutenant Governor, Jacqueline Coleman to replace McConnell in the Senate. A special election will not take place as the regularly scheduled Senate election will occur in November 2026, during the 2026 Midterm Elections.

Coleman will probably lose in 2026. My prediction is that with Thune helming the Republicans, they will flip NH, NC and KY. Maybe MN or Michigan too.

With Durbin being in his 80s and likely to retire, I wonder if even IL could be interesting.

Feb 10, 2026: Third meeting on Climate Change occurs between White House, Congressional Democrats, Republicans.

Wikimedia Commons

Today, President Harris, Vice President Buttigieg, Senate and House Democrats and Republicans met today about Climate Change. The meeting took place between leadership in both the Senate and House, including Senate Democratic Majority Leader Schumer, Senate Republican Leader and Minority Leader Thune, House Democratic Leader Jeffries, and the Republican Speaker of the House McCarthy. The White House, led by President Harris requested that the leaders of both parties in the Senate and the House, would attend the meeting. Climate Change is a huge issue and a top priority of the Harris Administration and Senate Democrats, who are in the majority. Republicans also view Climate Change as a critical issue but many downplay the issue and do not view it as very concerning.

The meeting went well, according to both President Harris and Speaker of the House McCarthy. Both are glad and have made progress. Harris was questioned by the media and said, "in our meeting, progress was made and we believe that we will find a solution to this critical issue." Harris was asked what the details are and if they have come to any sort of deal with the Republicans in Congress yet. Harris tried to dodge the question and said, "I cannot comment on this as of now. We made great progress with the Republicans and believe that we can come to a solution. Thank you everyone."
Speaker of the House McCarthy was also asked and stated that Climate Change is a huge issue that himself and his Republican caucus in the House, and Republicans' minority in the Senate are working on with Democrats. McCarthy also said that other issues were discussed to compromise with Democrats. McCarthy did not state, what those other issues were.

Some information was leaked from a high ranking official at the meeting to the Washington Post. The Post reports that cutting emissions and cutting fracking is part of the discussion between the two sides and both are in agreement to try to dramatically decrease the amount that is currently occurring Democrats wanted to put regulations on companies, but Republicans refused to compromise on that. They did agree that checks need to be placed on companies, to make sure that they cooperate and follow new laws. Putting checks on both American allies and advocacies, including Russia and China was discussed. Both parties agreed that America needs to work with other nations throughout the world to combat Climate Change. President Harris stated, "we need to work with all other nations to combat Climate Change, which includes nations that we both have agreements and disagreements with." The next and expected final meeting with take place in either Late March or Early April. Continued negotiations and discussions will take place in Congress over the next month.

Mar. 15, 2026: President Harris, Congressional Democrats propose Reparations bill.

Wikimedia Commons

Democrats, led by President Harris proposed a bill today that would provide reparations to all black Americans that are descendants of slaves. Reparations has been discussed for decades but never got passed in Congress. In the United States and around the world, reparations were put into place towards certain marginalized groups. In the United States, reparations were given to both Jewish and Japanese Americans to make up for atrocities and discrimination that was targeted at those groups. During the 2020 Democratic Debates, then Senator Harris voiced her support of reparations towards black Americans. During, the Biden administration, reparations were also discussed but nothing was ever done and no bill was proposed. President Harris, along with Senate and House The bill pledges a $500 billion investment in black communities, which includes cash reparations of $10,000 to every descent of slaves in the United States, mostly black Americans. The bill will first move to the Senate, where it is favored to pass where Democrats hold a slight majority, with Vice President Buttigieg breaking ties. The bill will be sponsored by Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ayanna Pressley in the Senate and Democratic Representative Karen Bass, the former Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Many Republicans in both the Senate and House, have said that they will not support the bill, while others including some moderates have said that they are undecided. In particular, Vermont Republican Senator, and former liberal Governor, Phil Scott has said that he indeed will vote for the Reparations bill. Phil Scott has voted with the Democrats and the Biden and Harris' administrations, 63% of the time.

Do the reparations apply for only descendants of slaves or all black-Americans? If the latter, what percent black do you need to be to get them?
