The meltdown when Biden loses the NPV is going to be something else. This poll is very, very bad for Biden. Hillary was leading polls by far more at this point in 2016, and Biden's enthusiasm gap is a horrible sign for him.

FYI, for those who don't remember, this is the same margin Hillary won the 2016 vote by, and she lost by 77 electoral votes. Biden winning the NPV vote by 2 points does not translate into an electoral college victory. Don't be delusional.

Yea, Trump is going to run the table with Biden. Once they are on the same debate stage and Trump kills him, the race will be totally over.

We said the exact same thing about Hillary with Trump. Polls said she beat him comfortably in all three debates and guess who’s President?

We’ve been saying for over a year that Biden would crash and burn once the Democratic debates started... and look where he is now.

Trump can't debate and it doesn't even take a strong debater to beat him in a debate. Trump only wins by pulling off a plurality again and that's like lightning striking twice. He's probably ruined any chance he had of winning Michigan again, which leaves only Pennsylvania and Wisconsin on the table for him (and Pennsylvania is a reach considering how far Philadelphia's suburbs have trended left).

Reminder that the election isn't for another 7 months but if Biden loses the NPV then no Democrat was going to win because Bernie is polarizing and can't even turn out his own base in a primary, Warren had major deficiencies with POC, and Bloomberg was awful trash.

Why should believe that Trump will win, he has broken every promise and he tapped into the anti NAFTA WC vote and the coronavirus comes from bad trade with China. He didnt cut the deficit or make Mexico pay for wall

This has Trump winning rural areas 72-25 when he won them 60-34 in 2016.

That’s definitely not going to happen.

Don't get too overconfident.

Gee, if Trump is going to win then maybe Sanders should cut a deal with him to get on the ticket. A Trump-Bernie unity ticket sure would show Democrats not to steal the nomination from Bernie! Trump is more liberal than Biden since he is going to send out stimulus checks. Rose Twitter said so.

This is a disappointing poll for Biden. The rally around the flag effect shouldn't help Trump's polling against Biden because a lot of those people who are rallying around the president, are people that won't vote for him in a general election.

That'll be some of it (hence why his head-to-heads are behind his approvals). However, I expect part of it is also politically-disengaged people who are currently happy that something is happening.

However, that's still very 'soft' support that can't be relied on in November.

Also has Trump winning suburbs by 4 points when he won them by 2 in 2016, not to mention the fact that he is winning 12% of democrats (LOL).

Why have an election after all when you could just rewrite the results from 2016

Did you watch the 2nd presidential debate in 2016 when he destroyed Hillary and the gop primary debates?

Why do you cherry pick polls you like, Fox news poll have Trump down by 9.

The polls showed that Hilary won all 3 debates

We can all cherry pick polls we like

Nope, because we believe in ideas and don't worship individuals because of their aesthetic. The nomination wasn't stolen from Bernie, I've seen practically nobody claiming that (actually, I've seen far more rigging claims from Warren supporters than anyone else), Biden won fair and square but he's still an awful candidate.

Also, since it's apparently difficult for people to understand: Trump can do some good things and still be an overall terrible President. You don't have to pretend every single thing he does is awful. Not sure why you think that's a winning message.

This.  While November may feel like a thousand years from now when it comes, this is all feeling very 2004 based on what we know today.

With the popular vote/EC disparity, Dems need to win by around 3 points to feel comfortable about reaching 270

It's pretty aggravating that a poll with Biden winning means he's actually losing because of our absurd electoral system.

Those enthusiasm numbers for Biden really aren't great. Now of course he didn't have to rely on level of enthusiasm to win the nomination but it's still worrying that a huge chunk aren't enthusiastic about him at all along with a large "somewhat enthusiastic" number.
