I rarely play video or computer games anymore, but I’ve been fond of the Sims II and EU3 by paradox. I play one of those two every once in a while or so.

I assume you mean SimCity 4 or eariler? Cities Skylines beats any newer SimCity game out of the water.

I play SimCity 2000 for PC, personally.

It's a good game. It's aged remarkably well.

I've recently started playing some nostalgic 90's games; Pharaoh, Age of Empires II, Railroad Tycoon 2 etc Smiley

I want to play Age of Empires 2 but alas I only have a Mac.

How can I play it still?

I dual-boot Windows 10.  You can do it for free.

I actually just got the new AOE2 DE, still getting used to it so if any Atlasians want to take advantage of my noobiness with a game, now's the time.

I bought Into the Breach (made by the makers of FTL) over the weekend. I was skeptical, but I gave it a try, and it is a true masterpiece.

I know this thread is mainly a strategy game circlejerk and that's cool I play as much Vicky 2 as the next guy but

The newer resident evil games are cheap rn. Idk if I recommend the remake of 3 but if you have 20 bucks lying around use it on resident evil 2. That was like the best game of 2019. Resident evil 7 is also surprisingly solid.

Been playing Crying Suns (it's kinda like FTL) on my own, and Starbound with a couple friends.

I've thought about playing either Stellaris or Crusader Kings, but I'm not sure if I want to do that to my life. I might get the FF7 remake when it comes out.

I just started playing Stellaris in the last couple days, and it is amazing. The first hour or so is very difficult to figure out, but with the tutorial on for advice mode and a couple references to online, you actually get the hang of it quite quickly. Again, just grit your teeth through the first 30 to 60 Minutes of feeling like, WTF?

Also been playing the Assassin's Creed series. Effectively finished Rogue about a week ago, and just started playing Origins. Wow is it good. Have Odyssey waiting for me as well.

Also just bought Dark Souls 2 + 3 yesterday since they were on super duper sale on Steam.

If Assassin’s Creed is as good on the PC as it is on the console then get that game . I just downloaded Unity a week and a half ago on my PS4 and finished the campaign today . It was really really fun to play

You're an assassins creed fan? I've played the first five games with Desmond but stopped after the ending of AC3 which sucks because up until the last five minutes AC3 was my favorite of those 5 (unpopular I know but whatever)

Im not a fan of Origins

Shocked

@Morgan Kinsley; I'm not sure about the count, but does that mean you have or have not played Black Flag? If not, grab it. Man oh man did they Revitalize the series with that one.

I feel the combat is a downgrade from the previous games

I've found great relief in playing Stardew Valley. Quiet and pleasant farming simulation where I'm allowed to go outside

I've been having a lot of fun playing the FF7 remake. There's a little too much filler, but it has probably the best writing, combat system, and voice acting of any JPRG I've ever played.

My girlfriend and I finished Pokemon Sword/Shield last night.  I was pretty disappointed.

The puzzles and adventuring are easy AF.  It feels like the game is holding your hand the whole time between all the cutscenes explaining everything, being able to fly immediately, no HMs and unlimited TMs, just handing you 2 of the 3 legendaries for free, etc.

On top of that it just felt very content-free.  There are way too many boring filler cutscenes and battles with Hop.  Instead of the classic elite 4 + champion, the finale is a rehash of trainers and gym leaders you've already seen, and the final battle is with the guy who's been friendly to you the whole game so it doesn't feel very satisfying to whip his ass.  Furthermore, before you can fight him there's a huge anticlimax where you have to go do a bunch of repetitive battles against EvilCorp henchmen.

In the postgame, it seems like most pokemon are caught by just RNG grinding in the wild area and waiting for weather conditions.  Not like previous games that encourage you to explore the entire map to find all the different pokemon in different areas.  There are no legendaries to hunt or cool sidequests.  Just battle tower and completing your pokedex.

Maybe I'm an old grump, I haven't played Pokemon since Gen 3 after all, but I thought Sapphire had WAY more content and was much more engaging and challenging.

I’ve been playing Civ VI a fair amount lately. I like playing as the Maori, though I’m terrible at finishing games.

I have also been playing board games on Board Game Arena. There’s some free ones and some that you have to pay for premium ($4 or €4 per month) to play. As long as the person setting up the game has premium, no one else needs it.
