Since last month--Trump is running in every direction, giving trillions away, doing 2 hour task force presentations.

Biden's not doing much at all.

And the margin is still 9 points!

I'm not going to say that I am 100% reassured after these past few weeks, but I do think that when Biden becomes more present in the media again that we may see more polls like this in spite of whatever rally effect Trump is benefiting from.

According to the article Biden is polling much better than Hillary in key swing areas which some polling junkies have been saying

Rally around the flag.

The same thing happened to Carter early in the Iran hostage situation.

I know, but I am surprised Biden leads by this much with his approval that high.

Apparently it jumps to 52-42 with a Biden-Warren ticket.

It is 50-42 against Biden-Harris and Biden-Klobuchar. Although this probably means little...

A lot of the bump has come from Democrats who won’t vote for him either way. (It’s baffling that they think he’s done a good job, but that’s another issue.)

In the article:

Quote
The race remains a nine-point advantage for Biden over Trump when looking only at those voters extremely interested in the election (52-43 percent) and the former vice president has an eight-point edge in battleground states (48-40 percent).

However, Biden’s advantage grows to 25 points, 57-32 percent, in close counties (where Hillary Clinton and Trump were within 10 points in 2016).

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-biden-leads-trump-wins-high-marks-for-female-vp-pledge

What I think we're seeing is a rally-around-the-flag bump where some additional voters have decided Trump is doing an OK job with the virus crisis -- but they're still going to vote for Biden.

Look, the current situation has many people upset and nervous. Having to acknowledge that the President is an incapable moron is a bit too much for many to handle right now.

My governor is Mike DeWine. If you polled me and asked me if I approve of the job that he's doing, I'd definitely say yes, as he seems to actually care about solving the problem unlike the current idiot in chief that only cares about his re-election chances. However there's no way I would vote for Mike DeWine.

The arguement can go both ways, depressed youth turnout and no rallies make it a lower turnout. But yet again, Trump has lead us into another Great Recession

There is nothing to suggest depressed youth turnout.

Wait, Fox News has Trump with a high approval rating (by his standards), and he still gets blown out by Uncle Joe? Well done, man. Well done.

I figured it was something similar to people pointing to Trump's disapproval rating as being completely rock-solid (as in his disapproval rating will be 100% reflected in his Election Day performance) -- there are a number (perhaps non-negligible) of folks who disapprove of Trump (don't like his tweeting, don't like his demeanor, etc. etc.) but will still vote for him.

I don't get how you can tell that from a single poll, esp the one with lowest bump (Fox somehow always showed good Approvals #).

We have 3 Gold Standard high-quality live polls. I'll get with RV numbers only.

Approvals:
Fox News          Monmouth                       ABC/WaPo

48 (+1)             48 (+4)                            49 (+3)
51 (-1)              48 (-3)                              47 (-5)

H2H vs Biden
49 (nc)           48 (didn't poll before)         didn't release yet, had it at Biden +7
40 (-1)           45

So the pollster that showed small improvements in in approval, showed no improvements  in H2H. Monmouth, unfortunately, hasn't polled race before... ABC/WaPo has, but hasn't released new # yet. Hopefully, they will soon.

Now, if ABC/WaPo shows no improvements in H2H, I'll agree with Nate. He works for ABC, perhaps, he knows the coming #?

I recall them having Donnelly romping to an easy victory and McCaskill's race in a dead heat the week before the midterms.

So?  Every pollster misses sometimes.  Fox News has an overall very good track record.
