I personally think that Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown will remain in the U.S. Senate how long they want by Ohio voters.

They are one of the best bipartisan senators around.

What do you think?

Portman - Republican nominee, 2046 (I think he'll end up being a lifer)

Brown - Republican nominee, 2030

Both can stay in the Senate for as long as they want. Both will be replaced by Republicans when they retire

Portman will probably be a lifer, though he could be picked for a Republican Cabinet spot

I think a Republican, probably Balderson replaces Brown in 2024

Portman is a lifer and Portman loses in 2024 or 2030 depending on whether Trump gets reelected or not

In 2022? Maybe in 2024? Do you think Brown will lose in 2024? Why? He is quite popular in the state

In before this thread devolves into the same old "Ohio is Titanium R forever" drivel.

They will both be replaced by Republicans because Ohio is Titanium R forever.

If OH goes Dem, in 2020, Tim Ryan will run against Portman,  he is friends with Biden

Ohio is trending very Republican, Renacci was a terrible candidate and got within 6, had Mandel run again, he very well could have won, Brown is on borrowed time, I wouldn't be shocked if he just calls it quits in 2024 and retires. In 2024, I'm already expecting that MT/OH/WV flip to the Republicans, and I think TX flips narrowly to the Democrats, especially given the trends in those states.

This, but unironically, OH is trending very Republican

Portman I think will retire in 2028 or so, unless he gets a cabinet spot. His replacement will probably be some up-and-comer we've never heard of before.

Brown I think will lose in 2024 if Biden is elected. If Trump wins it could go either way, as Ohio's getting pretty red. My money's on Gonzalez.

This, contradicts your arguement OH is trending away from Dems, Portman has a beatable approval rating and Brown is in positive territory and McConnell can be beaten

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-every-senator-ranks-according-to-popularity-above-replacement-senator/ Brown +17 and Portman +10 Brown has a better approval than Portman

Portman has that seat for as long as he wants it, but Brown is likely to lose in 2024.

Portman will keep getting elected forever, or until he gets appointed SoS or Treasury Secretary in a future GOP admin.

Brown loses to Gonzalez in 2024.

Haha, no one has the seat forever the seat belongs to the public, Hilary thought she was privileged for Oval office because of Bill, but she lost

Portman: Who knows, could be a lifer.

Brown: Whoever defeats him in 2024, or pressures him into retirement in 2030.

The reason why Tim Ryan is gonna run for Senate and risk his House seat 1. Redistricting by DeWins and 2.) Tim Ryan will have a cabinet spot in Biden's cabinet, in 2024 if he loses to Portman, 3. He along with Joe Kennedy will be top contenders for Prez in 2028, should Biden be elected in 2020

Again Portman has only a +10 fav and Sherrod Brown has a better approval than Portman +17

It's a bold prediction but it is likely

Brown is probably in his last term here. In 2024 he'll be replaced by a Republican, not sure who though.

Portman could still in office for quite a while yet, so who knows.
