Nancy Pelosi and a host of others who are very measured and thoughtful about what they say stood by him last week. She wouldn't have done that without grilling his ass first. I believe Biden.
I was thinking about this and the Obama endorsement. I don't think Obama would have endorsed so full-throatedly as he did if he wasn't positive this wouldn't damage his legacy. He knows that it's going to be clear who is telling the truth in the end.

Uh, why are we taking endorsements from democratic leaders of the presumptive democratic nominee as some sort of special sign?
Obama is someone who cares about his legacy more than anything. I have a feeling (and I may be wrong) that he probably looked into this case independently and thinks its a dud (whether or not he has information that we don't is a separate matter, of course).

I get your point, and I'm guessing that they (Obama and Pelosi) probably don't think much of the accusation. I guess my point is that unless this totally tumbled into a situation where multiple accusers came out they would endorse Biden no matter what.

The fact that she also cancelled another interview in the immediate aftermath of the Morning Joe interview is very suspect

So Reade was scheduled to do an interview with CNN, then cancelled for some dumb reason.
She was scheduled to do an interview with Fox, then cancelled for some dumb reason.
She was contacted repeatedly by WaPo and NBC, and did an interview with the AP.

Yet she and her defenders will still run around claiming the mainstream media is "ignoring" or "silencing" her and NYT will still run thinkpieces saying "her story needs to be heard."

As though it's our fault she won't talk to any media that isn't already extremely anti-Biden (and pro-Sanders).

She was also contacted by NBC News yesterday after the new details about the senate complaint came out, and they said she hadn't responded to comment back either.

“Dumb reason”? ... she claims she was the target of harassment / death threats.

So was Ford. And yet she testified UNDER OATH at a senate hearing.

That's a total non-sequiter.  It's not like if she doesn't do the interview people will stop sending her threats (if that's even happening in the first place).

Also, she did an interview on democracy now last Tuesday.

I’m sorry, nobody sent her ass any death threats. She is a grifter and a liar.

The death threats excuse is just that, an excuse. She would be at her home doing the interview anyway, so it's not like she had to leave the house and be in danger. She was asking for coverage for weeks, but turned down two television interviews after Biden spoke out. I don't think she expected Biden to ever respond and when he did it threw her off. After his response she couldn't afford to go on television programs and end up flubbing questions.

www.thenation.com/article/politics/tara-reade-biden-allegations/tnamp/

(QOUTE)

A great deal has been made of her supposedly changing story. But most of these “changes” are rather a matter of her having enlarged her account over time, by finally coming forward to speak out about the alleged sexual assault, in addition to the sexual harassment she had previously attested to ... And adding to one’s story, when ready and willing to do so, does not amount to contradicting it. It is also hardly mysterious why it might take a victim time to break her silence: the pain, fear, and prospect of recrimination serve to keep many women quiet for years, decades, or even a lifetime.

We know, moreover, that sexual assault victims’ accounts often contain gaps or minor inconsistencies, and sometimes evolve over time, as they grapple with traumatic memories, and come to terms with what happened to them. This, as sexual assault advocates and trauma specialists have taught us, does not mean the victim is lying. It simply makes her a typical, human, and hence imperfect, victim.

Nor does having allegedly complained of Biden’s sexual harassment to the Senate personnel office, without using the term “sexual harassment” specifically, cast doubt on her story. It amounts to having described something de re but not de dicto—speaking of a thing without using the word for it.

Reade previously said that she left her job to be with her husband, Tate.

Later, she said that Biden fired her after she filed a sexual harassment complaint.

Now, she said that she didn't file a sexual harassment complaint.

...must be one of those "minor inconsistencies"

and this is where I stopped reading....

Tara story changes went beyond Simpy hyping up and enlarging her account over the years,
she outright denied that Biden had ever harassed or assaulted her in the first place.

In April, 2019 she said this
"his actions were NOT “sexualization,” but rather compared his actions toward her as being demeaning and treating her like a “pretty” lamp that is thrown away when it’s too bright. She also claimed that her story was not “a story about sexual misconduct.”

Had Ford said something like this about kavanaugh the GOP would have ripped her apart.
In sorry but some on the left are have really let political correctness blind them from being objective when comes to the facts about Tara Reade and her story

Its one thing to want to believe woman who have been abused by powerful man for decades but It is another to simply ignore the massive inconsistencies with Tara story and and let her potentially damage an innocent men reputation just because you are unwilling to confront the harsh reality that not every woman who claims to be assaulted is telling the truth

Bernie should just come out now and side with Biden. He can easily end this.

The backlash against his endorsement of Biden proved he can't quash all hostility to Biden on the left.

The AP interview was not televised whereas the Fox and CNN were scheduled to be live via video.

Not to mention Lemon specifically says she cancelled the interview on Friday because of "Biden refuting the allegations", something she apparently wasn't prepared for.

I'm sure you can find a much better defense of our nominee without giving the MAGA nutters a platform.

If Reade is lying and is a Sanders supporter, why didn’t she accuse Biden before the Iowa Caucus?

Because it looked like Biden's campaign was collpasing. Her twitter activity in March clearly shows she knew something drastic had to happen to stop Biden's comeback

Her original accusation dates back to April of 2019.

Trump supporters pushed a 21 year old in Michigan to make up a rape story against Buttigieg-

I watched it live. It's pretty clear he's just saying that to keep it fresh in his viewers' minds so when the next minor detail comes up he can have an 8 minute segment on it and not be accused of bias.

I don't think Carlson is capable of such strategic thinking.

Either way, Carlson acts in very bad faith, so he could easily use this against Biden whenever he wanted. So it's kind of shocking that he would even agree that it seems off when he could use it easily to his advantage.
