the mostly poor young people who busted their ass for their entire childhood, teen and young adult years and whose careers are notoriously short...you're happy that they can't earn money?  That's funked up man.

Americans are driving less because of the coronavirus. That's hurting red-light camera revenue.
now that's some good news
Quote
Redflex, an Australian company that operates "traffic safety programs" in roughly 100 US and Canadian cities, warned that less traffic and suspended construction amid the pandemic will be a stress on its balance sheet.

"Approximately 15% of group revenue is dependent on volume-based contracts," the companysaid in a regulatory filingMonday first spotted by The Wall Street Journal, hinting at its business line that includes enforcement cameras. "We anticipate our revenue from these contracts will be impacted broadly in line with the reduction in traffic volumes as well as the duration of the disruption."

<snip>

On a call with investors Monday, Redflex CEO Mark Talbot warned that further travel restrictions could delay new installations and therefore impact revenues.

"So far, there have been no terminations to contracts," he said, according to a transcript compiled by Sentieo. "We are, of course, undertaking cost initiatives where possible to mitigate the impact of reductions or risk of delay. In addition, the Board and executive team will be taking a reduction in compensation effective April 1 for the duration of the disruption."

The study also makes new statements on the coronavirus mortality rate. So far, the renowned Johns Hopkins University assumes that 1.98 percent of those infected die in Germany. Due to the fact that the Heinsberger study now also includes previously undiscovered infections and the total number of corona sufferers is higher, the death rate for Gangelt is only 0.37 percent.

A total of around 1,000 people took part in the study. The interim results now available come from around half of the subjects.

If I may! My church did a virtual choir of the hallelujah chorus and nbc nightly news highlighted us on Easter. I sang by myself to my computer to record and it was every bit as awkward as you’d think. Enjoy! https://vimeo.com/406622866

another study in California shows an even lower death rate.  more science the fearmongerers can ignore
Quote
We can use our prevalence estimates to approximate the infection fatality rate from COVID-19 in Santa
Clara County. As of April 10, 2020, 50 people have died of COVID-19 in the County, with an average
increase of 6% daily in the number of deaths. If our estimates of 48,000-81,000 infections represent the
cumulative total on April 1, and we project deaths to April 22 (a 3 week lag from time of infection to
death22), we estimate about 100 deaths in the county. A hundred deaths out of 48,000-81,000 infections
corresponds to an infection fatality rate of 0.12-0.2%. If antibodies take longer than 3 days to appear, if
the average duration from case identification to death is less than 3 weeks, or if the epidemic wave has
peaked and growth in deaths is less than 6% daily, then the infection fatality rate would be lower. These
straightforward estimations of infection fatality rate fail to account for age structure and changing
treatment approaches to COVID-19. Nevertheless, our prevalence estimates can be used to update
existing fatality rates given the large upwards revision of under-ascertainment.
which is more or less the same rate from the normal, seasonal flu.  I know we don't want to hear this because we've invested so much fear into this situation, so feel free to keep ignoring.  It's better for you that way.

This is heartwarming. A policeman goes undercover in a wheelchair and is surprised by all the help and compassion he receives.

What's the difference between Wuhan and Las Vegas?

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.
