Not particularly a freedom fighter, but not a horrible person, and I still have positive feelings towards him, so freedom fighter nonetheless.

I don't like him.  He may not be a horrible person, but he's sure not an FF.

Horrible Person, especially this past year. He's been trying to pull a Gore, but unsuccessfully.

I feel quite indifferent about him, as do many people I suspect - something which probably didn't help his Presidential campaign. Think about it, the majority of past Presidents were the kinds of individuals people either love or hate (Clinton, GW Bush, Reagan, Nixon, LBJ, etc). Kerry, on the other hand, has an incredible ability to arouse absolutely no feelings whatsoever.

I'm going with "freedom person" 'cause I don't find him to be a fighter at all, but he's not horrible.

Horrible Person, especially this past year. He's been trying to pull a Gore, but unsuccessfully.

You mean get fat and disappear from political life? He hasn't done anything like that, he's still in the Senate, he makes speeches all the time, he was a big player in the Scalito hearings (although that Swiss Alps thing angered even me).

Al Gore really let himself go weight wise. What did he do, pick up drinking?

I wasn't really kidding though. I've seen a lot of people who have had down times, taken to drinking and then put on a LOT of weight like he did.

Oh please, people, he is an American living in America.  The fact that he was not fat previously was the aberration, not his post-election fattening.
