OK,

Looking at new games for 2020. If you have any for PC, or have played any on the list, list your experience or suggest another.

1. A Plague Tale - Innocence (Asobo Studios)

https://www.asobostudio.com/games/plague-tale

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9PCcPg7mVs

This game is about the plague gripping 15th century France.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be living through an active pandemic?

You play as two children who are trying to escape the plague which is gripping the countryside.

Remarkable graphics and a great story line, this looks impressive. Have tried the demo, and it was a sad storyline, but interesting idea nonetheless.

2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (Activision)

https://www.sekirothegame.com/au/en/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BxOeeKU-Zs

Have yet to play this but it does look good. Hopefully, it is not just a gory slasher.

3. Control (Remedy)

https://www.remedygames.com/games/control/

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nPGrtkxNwlY

Dont know anything about this one, but it has very high ratings.

4. Death Stranding (Sony)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DXFML7Ehaw

The game is set in the US after a apocalyptic event of some description called the "Death Stranding".

Received awards for voice acting, soundtrack and graphics. Have not played it yet.

From what I've heard Death Stranding is completely lacking in actual gameplay.

I've played a game called Hades, where you are Prince Zagreus, son of Hades, trying to escape from the underworld.

My latest games my sons and I are looking at:

1. Fort Solis (Fallen Leaf) - PC Available now

Fort Solis Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVnd3wtpf1k

You are investigating a mining operation on Mars, and this one plays right through like 1918. A constant movie like flow. Looks very intereesting.

2. Starfield (Bethesda) - PC 6 Sep 2023

Starfield Trailer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ek3I6_9c58E

This one comes with real potential. The makers of Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, this one could be a standout for the company.

3. Lies of P (Neowiz Games) - PC 19 Sep 2023

Lies of P Trailer

https://youtu.be/lgw1ulO7h6E?t=617

This one is a "Soulslike" style game and is a bit of a dark horse, but has some very interesting ideas and historical perspective.

It came out in 2018 (with the epilogue DLC coming out in 2019), but I've been playing a lot of Celeste lately.

Anybody here played Disco Elysium? Came out in 2019 with a Director's Cut in 2021 but there's a coupon from Humble Bundle to get it and some other goodies for $6 USD. My understanding is it's about a drug-addled private eye in a country torn apart by ideological divides so it might be up folks' alleys.

Absolutely amazing, life-changing game. Highly recommend.

It's puts a unique spin on the detective genre. The main character has several aspects to his personality that interact with the player in ways that can help or and hinder you. It's certainly worth getting imo, I recommend it to a friend of mine and he loved it.

I'm a pretty avid Planet Zoo player. Spiritual successor to the Zoo Tycoon games which defined my early childhood, but with a greater focus on the construction/architecture aspect much like Planet Coaster from the same studio. Unfortunately, no aviaries or aquariums (yet).

Staring at a PC all day at work, just to log-off and sit in front of another PC to play games to unwind for an hour or 2?

Hmmm.....no thanks.  That's a psychological barrier many of us console peasants have that is simply impossible to cross.   I'm more of a Mac guy anyway.
