I'll start to wear either shorts or short sleeves somewhere between 45-50, depending on sun, rain, and wind.  At about 55, I'll generally be in short sleeves and shorts (again, the exact temperature depends on the conditions around it.  At work, I wear a short-sleeve polo and jeans year round (though I would wear shorts if I saw anyone else doing so).  I'll usually bring a jacket if the high is under 50

I'm a bigger guy, so I suspect I am in shorts and short sleeves a little earlier than most.  In our Tennessee climate, I wear short sleeves without a jacket more often than I wear a jacket, even in the heart of winter.

I run hot, so I wear the same thing no matter the temp:shorts, tshirt, flannel.  I shovel the snow in January and I cut the grass in August wearing shorts, tshirt and flannel.  If it's windy and cold I'll wear sweats, a second flannel and a jacket.  If it's hot I might roll up the sleeves on the flannel or take it off.

Probably as soon as I get new clothes with shorter arm and leg length.

35, though my parents tend to make me wear long sleeve on vacations to colder places (and I almost always wear a jacket over T-shirts anyway). I only wear shorts above 55, though (April-October)

Shirt sleeves can be worn anytime as long as you have a coat or something.

I never wear shorts though. Haven't worn them in about 10 years now.

I wear short sleeves all year and add either a thin button-up long-sleeve or a sweatshirt / hoodie as needed, maybe around 10 to 15 degrees (fahrenheit = 52 to 62). I also wear a leather jacket or winter coat during winter and the week or two leading up to winter and week or two after winter. Sometimes leather jacket instead of long-sleeve for fashion reasons in spring / fall. I don't wear shorts a lot but I wouldn 't wear them below 15 degrees (62 fahrenheit).

I don't wear shorts, ever. I hate showing off my hairy legs, and don't have the patience to shave or trim them.

I do wear short sleeves though (my arms aren't as hairy) when the temperature reaches 60 degrees Fahrenheit or more.

I realized I wasn't clear enough.  I meant short sleeves as the only layer.

I did wear short sleeves last Saturday as the temperature neared 60 (usual for the season here).

Really? Why (if I may be so bold)? Do you think it makes you look low-class or something?

I mean, clearly there are times when I wear shorts, like when playing sports. It's widely considered inappropriate for grown men to wear shorts or sandals around town.

#1 - I've never heard that in my life. I can see how it comes off as "not upper class", but the vast majority 9f citozens are not upper class.

#2 - I was actually far more interested in why would never wear short sleeves. Shorts is more understandable.

42 degrees all wear shorts instead of sweatpants. Around 50 or so I will wear short sleeves as my only layer.
