Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Bernie is basically a communist. His policies may not seem explicitly communist, but that is because they are coming from a modern American perspective. His worldview is clearly defined solely on class struggle, there are virtually no areas in which Bernie believes the private sector, even a regulated one, is more appropriate than government, and he makes no distinction between consumer spending and government spending. There comes a point at which you're splitting hairs between socialism and communism.

Bernie would not govern as a communist if elected, but he very much could change his party, as Trump has turned the GOP into a cruel, goosestepping cult, in a way that opens the door for real communists.

Absolutely. Plus, considering Bern man literally calls himself a Socialist and has for decades I've found it tiresome how many of his apologists try and spin that as "muh but in Europe he wouldn't be." That is not an argument. The dude embraces the term socialist. Trying to split hairs about if his views are really socialism when Marx says blah blah blah is disingenuous. He says he is a socialist... in Court agreeing to a fact makes it dispositive. Its like the infuriating folks who derp about how every historical Communist dictatorship that openly admitted to being communist "wasn't really communism" on account of how Marx says bla blah blah and plus the outcome of communism is good so any bad outcome isn't Marx.

At the end of the day Bernie chooses to say he's socialist ... chooses to reference Marx ... chose of all places to honeymoon in the Soviet Union during the Cold War ... chose to donate to the Sandinistas ... chooses to take the time out of speaking schedule to push back on criticism of Fidel Castro ... chooses to call for the actual elimination of billionaires (as in it doesn't matter if we use the money or not the goal is just to take it from them) ...

Bernie is a fan of Marx. Putting "democratic" in front of a word does not all of a sudden make it ok. And I'm not gonna apologize for calling out a red (or pinko) when he flippin admits to it, especially after we've had close to 6 years of "Trump is Nazi Fascist Hitler".
