This thread is an interesting collision of presidential history and modern values.

Anyway, putting aside slaveholders, I don't think we have conclusive proof that any president ever raped anyone. But JFK did some shady things with women that imo are a little worse than just adultery; e.g. he had an affair with a 19-year-old White House intern named Mimi Beardsley.

One of his former interns said he forced her to get an abortion and the whole affair was very traumatizing.

I do not believe Jefferson was a rapist in the literal sense. Technically, a slave could not consent but I do think he and Hemmings had something of an actual relationship. He did seem to make sure their children were well cared for and freed IIRC.

Do we have evidence that Sally Hemings was raped? I mean obviously you have a situation where the power dynamics are such that you could argue it but is there any evidence that Jefferson forced her? Am I way out of line here?
