Although she was controversial and looked unqualified, there is no doubt Governor Sarah Palin excited the republican base, which is something Senator McCain lacked. How badly would he lose if he went with his instincts (against everyone else's advice) and chooses Joe Lieberman, centrist Democrat from Connecticut?
