Okay, I've tolerated this for long enough, but I'm in enough of a bad mood to say 'enough is enough'.

If you're going to post here, please know the difference between adjectives and nouns.  'Gay', 'poor', 'black', 'inept', 'incompetent' are not nouns; they are adjectives.  It's not "a black", or "an incompetent", because these words are not objects.

I've tolerated this disrespect for grammar for long enough.  Go ahead Walter Mitty, call me out for being a 'hall monitor' all you want, but this is the first time that I've stated how much this pisses me off.

Just highlights the fact that Opebo is getting way too much attention.  He's the one who started this trend, afterall.

Just ban opebo and be done with it. I mean he's a commie, a pervert AND a troublemaker.

The problem was that telling someone 'you're religious' is not much of a put-down. It has steam power of about 0. Telling someone 'you're a religious' has a much more wholistic quality, as if the person is wholly defined by an excessive manifestation of the entrapping qualities of religion. Thus the effect is more acidic.

(On the other hand, calling someone a 'fundamentalist' or 'talibangelical' seems much to hysterical, as if their actions warrant the invention and use of such a long, intellectual-sounding noun. It also makes the caller seem much too serious. 'Religious' on the other hand, has a somewhat more humorous, lighthearted, put-down quality to it).

It only seems that way to opebo, who also thinks that 'Joe Republican' is a witty put-down.  In my view, it makes him look even more childish and stupid.

I didn't say it was witty, just lighthearted. Surely 'a religious' does not seem as serious as 'a fundamentalist'. Joe Republican is funny because it's so stupid and obvious. All of these opeboisms carry with them the underlying impression that he's not entirely serious (a lot of people around here sure do take him that way though).

Fair enough.  It's pretty clear that opebo doesn't want any of us to take him seriously anyway.

But this thread is kinda aimed at anybody else who has repeatedly made these grammatical errors.  *ahem, Walter and Tweed*

Look Gabublican, you're probably a religious.  You're a poor and an arrogant, and probably a fat.  Why don't you just move to Alabama and join the religious party?

There, I feel better.  I've been wanting to say that for a long time. Tongue

You're a secular, Democraleman, and probably a liberal too.  Go back to Taxachussetts with your pansy-ass hippie friends and sing "Kumbaya" while masturbating to pictures of Chairman Mao.

Joe Republican, it isn't an 'error' if you do it on purpose!  I like to use terms like 'a fat', 'a religious', or a poor (or poors) because I love the idea of highly self-conscious and self-referrential composition.

It is half the fun of the enclosed world of internet chats.  You need to relax and be less of an irritable.

'Gonna'?  Wink

No, in all seriousness, it is amazing how rarely one catches gonorrhea in Southeast Asia - maybe only once every few months.  I've caught it far more often 'per encounter', in the US!

As for syphilis, that is really rare, for some reason.

This deliberate bad grammar is getting old.  It's like when someone exclaims something, and a bunch of 111s end up with the exclamation points.  Or when "the" is typed as "teh."
